DIRTY WHEELS
« on: December 30, 2012, 11:13:50 PM »
Guess someone has already asked this one.. WOT can I use to actually and successfully remove the brake and road grease deposits from my wheels ??  I've tried so many things from Petrol, Engine de-grease, WURTH Industrial Cleaner, Fortron SHIELD alloy wheel cleaner, the latest SCA Heavy Duty degreaser (Powerful cleaning action dissolves grease, oil, dirt and grime), Spray & Wipe, dedicated mag cleaning foam - its all rubbish - cant shift it -  :||||
Found Meguiars Quik Wax to be perfect for the fairing, boxes and screen.

Before any smart :butt comes up with it - I'm NOT pouring perfectly good Vodka over my wheels.. That's only for fine Swish movement watches.. :cop

I use FW1 on all of my bike. Great stuff. Little expensive but worth it. Try this- fw1.com.au

Hi Tony.
So the General Wax works on the rims as well ?  It does imply this, or do you use the General Cleaner??
Which one to choose ?  :runyay

I usè the general cleaner with wax in it. You can buy it cheaper in 6 pack without all the other ones, I.e tyre black upholstery cleaner etc it goes on as a white spray. You leave it to disolve grim and bugs for 2 mins before wiping with first microfibre cloth, then buffing clear with second cloth to leave an awesome shine
Once it has been done once the bugs and grime come off even easier next time. One can will last all year just doing my bike all over

I can second that.  If you look at the website you can find when they are selling in a carpark near you, and save the freight.  I find they are open to a haggle- it's a franchise, so every seller is free to give a discount for good looks.  That's why I always get quite a good percentage off the asking price.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
