Hang on Diesel.  We can still need a place to share ideas about where to find parts and how to get rego and insurance for antique bikes.

Well... I can't see the point of this forum going on any longer.      :'(

I'll give everyone 1 week to say their goodbyes... then, sadly, it's lights out.
Thanks to all for making this a great place to be while we had it.

Me thinks young Diesel may have had some inside info on the demise of the ST.
How else do you explain the bulk lots of parts & accessories for sale lately at crazy bargain basement prices?

with the give away price of the last 1300's, some may have noticed a drop in price of late model used 1300's. i know of one which has gone from $13k to $10k overnite with 70k on the clock. Local dealer said that honda would have a new bike out in 2014, no details.

Maybe, just maybe they're listening to the hue and cry from the STalwarts.

I read the long article on the Triumph Sprint in Australian Motorcyclist #2 and it's very impressive.
Only three cylinders!   :eek
What were they thinking?  We know you can't balance an odd number.

BUT
cruise control, 55 litre top box, fly-by-wire, electronic suspension...
hold it right there- it's getting way too electrickery for this little black duck.  I just want a digital display I can read!

Alas poor ST, I have but known thee well. 'Tis a far far greater thing etc, etc, etc.

Methinks the ST's may be around for a tad longer than some may consider.  Look at the value of the '70's vintage CB's. Oh yes, nothing so plastic in the life of the ST market, chaps.

Me also thinks we Ostralia ST owners may well be still riding them after some of the honourable gentlemens of the Rising Sun who made this unfortuatous decision to end the ST line and are no more.

Viva la ST. Long may they make a (nice) noise.   :thumbs :clap :beer :-++ :thumb

If the ST13s last as long as the ST11s, the last of the new ones should be good through to 2030+

I'd be very surprised to see em produced for much longer, after all they are a decade old and the competitors are now more tech advanced. And let's be honest, the 1300 hasn't been the red wing's finest marque to roll of their production line. :-[
Just a thought

Ciao the can:-)
