Hi Dave,
After 3 months with the bike off the road due to a stuffed alternator, today I managed to fire her up, the new alt was doing what it should and I even managed to get the swing arm back on all by my lonesome......I'm so proud of myself.
Anyways, I'm hoping to get it on the road and tested by Wednesday and give myself a few days to ensure all the nuts and bolts are nice and tight.
So all going well I might bring my son along as well, he's 17 and in year 11.
I'll give an update by Wednesday on how the STeed is coming along.

Dags, I am in Kambah and will also be going to this RTE.

I have been talking to SAAZ and we are discussing route options - a favoured one at this stage is to go through Sutton, Gundaroo, Gunning, Crookwell, Taralga (short section of gravel road between C & T), Oberon, Lithgow then along Bell's line of road, Bilpin, Kurrajong Heights, East Kurrajong through to the Putty Road north of Windsor and then on to the Cafe.

Total one way distance of about 485 Km. in order to make it to lunch by 12 on this route, we would need to be on the road by about 6.30am.

The other option is to take the highways, quick-n-easy, about 400 ks & possible Toll Roads.

Looks like the ACT contingent will be going more inland, so don't expect us to meet up in Narellan. From memory I did the route STroppy suggested last year to the Grey Gum.

Let's seen now....
1. Alternator in, checked and pumping at a steady maximum

,
2. New (Safely done) wiring for electrical (aux) points (x3)

,
3. Received a dash shelf from TJ in QLD and that is installed with a bewt RAM connection for my iphone.
4. New oxford heated grips installed (go figure, bought 4 months ago and did not get to use them through winter as the bike was off the road for 3 months)

5. Tonight I change the fluid level in the final drive and put on the tupperware (will have to find all the blasted screws now). All up an estimated 2 hours (1 hour at least to find the above mentioned screws)

6. Finish off with a short ride tonight to check everything is honky dorry.

7. I voted last night, tick in the box for an early start on Saturday if needed.

8. Decision, will StGeorge and Mother Therese together with the Gong mob come through Illawong/Menai and if so can I ride on with them or should I cross Sydney and head south to Narellan and meet up with the guys there.

Some one from the Gong mob contact me and let me know which route you are taking.

The missus has shaken off her fear of bikes and will be coming on Saturday. Have already been on a few trial runs.

Still have to see what ST George is up to, but either way, I'll see you guys at Narellan at 9.

What a Great Day

Got to Narellan 9am as planned then Hayfever set in so stayed outside sneezing and coughing.

Phone call came that Big Bird aka Bringellian was waiting at Luddenham for us so I headed off Leaving Neale to guide everyone else.

Met Mike and headed of to Grey Gum at a leisurely pace

werent the first to arrive but did get to have the pick of the tables and some quick service, before the hoardes arrived.

Cant remember any names even though they were on shirts.

Till next time thanks for a great first OzSTOC outing.
