Nicknames You Have Heard - Add them here and there meaning

I was thinking the other day of a couple of Blokes I used to work with, and as I thought I couldn't recall their names ... Only their Nicknames. So that got me to thinking of all the Aussie Nicknames we bestow on Blokes.

So Post Nicknames you've heard and the reason behind the Nickname, I'll start;

Knew a fella called Jungles ... Cause he was thick and dense...

I knew a few -
Guy with a shiny bald head and annoying - They called him mudguard, shiny on top and shit underneath 
Pothole - Always in the bloody road
Suitcase - You were always had to carry him as he wouldnt work

"Sprunga"

His surname is Leak.  No, really.

A safey officer called MOBITOW. Always turned up after an accident.
Jellybean because he used to paint his safety hat a different colour every few weeks.

Couple of guys here on the shire council....one guy with big ears, called Wingnut.....and another they call Blister....turns up after the work is done.

Was in training with a guy called Morph, (Morphine) he was a slow moving dope.

One of my groomsmen is called Diesel, apparently he used to drink the stuff or something

Had a union official some years ago was called 'mirror', when asked about something, would always reply, 'I'll look into that', but never did anything.

Another worker called 'vomit' was always bringing something up at every meeting.

My own nick name given to me by my Dad when I was a little tyke is 'hobnob' due to liking to chew the leftover bones of pigs trotters after mum made the soup. Dropped off the nob part in the interest of political correctness and envy from you blokes.

I knew a bloke at work who was always in trouble so we called him "asbestos" as he took the heat of the others.

Had a union official some years ago was called 'mirror', when asked about something, would always reply, 'I'll look into that', but never did anything.

Had an apprentice, called him "Candles", not the brightest, knew another bloke, his initials were SD, we said it stood for "six dicks", couldn't be that stupid pulling one.

One of the guys I knew was called Sui. This guy after his wedding reception, went on a seven day bender with his mates. Strangely, his wife dumped him after this effort, so he tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrists with the blunt side of a house key.. hence the name.

Another guy was called Bung, he liked a beer or two

I once worked for a bloke that everyone called Ted, even though his name was John.    Ted - short for Sh*t Head

Knew a bloke called "Half a chow" - His heritage was half asian and half Aussie lol

Had a Supervisor on a production line called 'The Sheriff', if the line stopped he ran up and down shouting "Where's the hold-up?".

His offsider was called 'The Balloon'. He was always saying, "Don't let me down boys."

Worked with a guy known as 'B.T.D.T' = Been there, done that.

I call my wife's friend 'The Optometrist' cause she specialises in "I's", it's always, "I" this and "I" that.

There was 'Ray', as in "Ray of Sunshine". What a miserable piece of sh17 he was!

Then there was the guy called 5times.

he had been there, done that or new a better way by at least 5 times

Had a dear departed mate that we called Captain Mudflats.  Now big Rob had a ships masters ticket. Every year 10 of us use to hire a house boat for 7 days and just generally run amuck.  One particular time the owner of the house boat was giving Robin instructions on where the mud flats were etc. Robin doing his best you cant tell me about boats sunny impression casually lent on the wheel house and casually cracked a bundy and cola.    You guessed it 5 minutes latter we are stuck on a mud flat with the owner having to come and tow us off.   These trips was were I got my nickname horizontal.   after some early morning drinking with the boys I would go and have a little lie down hence Horizontal

Knew a bloke in the Australia Air Force nicknamed "Back Fatter" because every time he went away on exercise he would gorge himself on local food and 'come back fatter'!
