Hi, My name is Arthur and I'm from Blacktown in Sydney's west. I've been riding road bikes most of my life, with my last bike (I know some are going to hate me for it) being a Harley. I was sick of my Harley breaking down and decided to make a change. I was tossing up between the FJR, BMW, Triumph and the ST. I test road them all, and the ST suited me the best. I ended up getting a 2004 ST1300A with only 12000k's on the clock. I am 6'3" and was worried that the screen would be too low, but how wrong I was. I can't believe how nice it is behind the screen and the biggest shock, coming from a Harley, I actually have brakes. I know I'm only preaching to the converted, but I'm loving this bike. My Wife usually rides with me, and we look forward to going on one of the organised rides.

Welcome Arthur, nice bike but I'm biased. If you haven't got a set of Helibar handlebar risers on yet, I would get some. I'm about the same height as you and they make a world of difference.

Hi Arthur. It's not too late to plan ride up to Inverell this coming Saturday. You'll need to stay in a motel for the night and let Streak know for catering.

No one here is surprised that the Hardley let you down. What is surprising is that people think they're a great bike. Apart from the "look at me" and "I'm tough" image, there's not a lot to like.

Hi everyone, and thanks for the great welcome. It's good to see riders not far from me, and with the same colour bike aswell. Hi Gavo, I'm not sure what colour blue it is but I know the pearl comes out nice in the sun. Thanks Biggles for the invite to Inverell, unfortunately I'm working this weekend. Sean, you mentioned Helibar risers, being new to this bike, I'm not sure how much difference they would make, and how it would effect the wind behind the screen. My Wife and I are hoping to meet many of you in the future.

Arthur the helibars basically bring the handgrips back about 2 inches and also lifts them around 1 1/2 to 2 inches. If you can imagine where your arms are now with helibars yours hand would back behind where your wrists are. It takes a bit of strain of your wrists and better still off your lower back.
