It looks like from this website that there was a 2012 model of the ST1300 Available in Henry Ford's favourite colour, Black.

If the ST1300 isn't replaced with something equal to what it is now or better, then unfortunately the Yamaha, Kawasaki, or BMW would have to be a consideration when mine is due for replacement. I want the Full Fairing, Luggage, Electric Windscreen and large tank. My $0.02 worth.

You forgot the Triumph Trophy- worthy of consideration.  And none of them have got what we call a "large" tank.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Another contender may be the partially water cooled BMW RT1200. It has a 30 litre tank - better than the 1600.  I understand that the Trophy has a range of at least 500kms from its 26 litre tank in adverse conditions, and could manage 600 plus if there were not strong head winds.  That is with all the luggage on.

The ST1300 is still available in the US and the UK, the "Cheap" ST's were those left unsold in Australia. So if you want to buy a new ST you can probably get one out of the US, plus shipping, plus GST, plus plus plus.

So if you want a new one bad enough and have the readies you can get one.

Also, I had a 1982 Yamaha XZ550 I bought brand new in 1983 and it had self cancelling blinkers.

I had a GS 850G 1980 model that had self canceling indicators. When needle went above 20km/hr it canceled them. Not sure how but definitely speedo driven.

The Trophy has a 26 litre tank, but the range from it is in ST country - from 550kms to over 650 depending on the winds.

Any ride I am on from now on. The ST is unregistered and in storage. The Robertson run was it last clean out to put fresh petrol in with some fuel stabiliser.  It even has a bike cover over it!

So did my XS750 and all the Yamaha roadies of the time. Wonder why the factory dropped it?

What mechanism did they use?  A timer?

They operated on both time combined with a speed sensor.   There was a sensor built into the speedo face, so that if speed was under a certain value, the indicator would keep running on a longer time basis (if stopped at lights or an intersection), and over that speed it worked on a longer set time.  Simple, elegant and worked a treat.

If that dude is meant to be promoting that plug ugly motorcycle, he's done a good job of doubling the turn-off factor!!!     :||||

It's not a cruiser, not a tourer, not a scooter, not an adventure bike, so it appeals to nobody, including me.  What are Honda thinking?  They have simply reinvented the DN01, which was a previous flop.

Hi All,
Not sure if anyone else has seen this or I am just slow, but check out what Honda has done with the ST 1300 engine.
