Halloween is Celtic in origin though there are different views on how it came about.

I know where Tipsy's coming from. The Yanks have really taken Halloween on board and go nuts with it.
The only reason I can see that it got a foothold in Oz was the retailers seeing another opportunity to sell stuff.
I put it in the same category as the current "zombie craze". Just bad taste, but appealing to some people.
And Tipsy, they won't come calling until Thursday night, but when they do...
