Dazza from Cairns
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:13:26 PM »
My name is dazza and I recently purchased a st1100 in Cairns. Over the years of my older age I have owned quite a few bikes. 5 harleys, Ducati sport, CB 750 Honda, xs 650 Yamaha, and a number of scooters in Indonesia where I lived for 6 years. It's always been on my bucket list to own a touring bike.
So, help my out here. I love the thought of riding something that stops and is comfortable to ride. Where do I buy parts and what oils do I use? Cheers Dazza

Hey Dazza, welcome.....what colour is your ST? And why haven't you waved to me.. bwahahahahaha..  :rofl

If you see a single seat goldie getting around Cairns, that's me.. if you see a dual seat goldie around that'll be my mate Charlie.
Hope to see you on a ride at some stage, I'll let you know if I'm going out for a trundle.

Cheers, Craig.

Dazza, I'll try to organise some time to meet up and I can explain a few things and help you learn about the bike. I have a software copy of the manual that I can give you a copy of as well. After we talk about the bike we do a run for a coffee somewhere.

Great to see the STs staying in the family.  Welcome from another one of the older and more sensible STOCers    :grin
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Hey Bikebear, what sort of oil should I use? Does it really matter? I want to do an oil change real soon and was going to use shell helix 20/50. I thought that may be ok in this hot climate.
