I've ridden around Victoria many times and lived to make it back into the ACT . . . AND never been booked down there . . In fact I've managed to only ever been booked while riding the motorbike once in my life . . . Been riding since 1966.

You gotta stop riding like a nanna, mate.       :grin
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I know Biggles, I know . . I guess when I stop riding like a Nanna I'll increase my tyre life from around 8,000ks to 20,000 ks . . I guess that's the secret . . I may even speed up to 80 kph . .

West Aussie by birth, Kalgoorlie.  But now live in Victoria and liking it.  The roads are poor due to ground movement, the high clay soils really move alot and this in turn causes the many dips humps and bumps in the roads.  In fact it kills my back.  I have 8 damaged disks between the vertibrae in my back and those dips & humps can really hurt.  I hate the roads for that reason.

Born in Whyalla, SA. Toured Europe, UK and US for 6 months in late 60's. Toured Aus 71 to mid 76 after returning from overseas. Lived in Melbourne while based at 2 Sig Regt, Watsonia Barracks 76-80. Moved to Ashmore on the Gold coast March 81-87, then Brisbane for 2 years.
Returned to Melbourne late 89 for 2 months. Worked at Ballarat rail workshops for 4 months while living at Linton, then moved to Portland May 90. Now I just tour, and return to Portland. I call it home.

Have only ever been without a bike for 2 months during '88 while living in Brisbane. The ST is my 34th bike.

I was born in Victoria, spent my early life on a dairy farm (18 years in the same place, same parents even!) until I moved to Canberra for university and work in 1977. All my family is still down in Victoria. I go there a lot, just got back from there.

If you want to see where I lived the first part of my life look up Carpendeit in google maps, and of courses we lived at the end of Nagles Road.
