Honda Red Touch up paint
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:52:53 AM »
Does anyone know where to get paint that matches the red ST1300 paint (2002/3 if it makes any difference). I believe it is called "Candy" or "ambassador" red.
I tried the colour matching service at Supercheap, but they couldnt find anythng that came close.

To do it properly you need to buy 3 cans:
Base Coat  Honda Glory Red HOC. R101C
Top Coat:  Honda Glory Red HOC. R101C
Clear Topcoat Acrylic Lacquer
I got mine put into aerosol cans by a vehicle paint supplier, Peninsula Paint Supplies in Redcliffe, Qld.
Cost $69 all up for enough to do two panniers.
If you can paint it without getting "orange peel" then you're in TJ's expert class.

Thanks Biggles,
Is the base coat and top coat meant to be exactly the same paint?

Oh! and where did you get the paint from?

No, the top coat has the "fleck" in it.
