Hi everyone,
Recently I had done the conversion on my 2006 ST1300 ex police by removing the Solo seat and replacing it with the dual seat.
An extremely big thanks to John (Z900owner) for his helpful lending hand and knowledge to get the job done!
Not many discussions around that explains how it's done, so here is what you need to know.
Before pic:

You will need a dual seat from a regular ST1300 and the following parts from your local Honda motorcycle store:

What the parts look like:
Note: I'm not sure what the rubber washer was for, it wasn't needed.

So the first step is to remove the solo seat bracket on the left of this picture, the middle latch mechanism and the rack on the back.

It will then look like this:

Proceed to remove the rear plastic/tail light section:

You will now need to remove the four brackets featured here, using a hacksaw or an angle grinder (cover the fuel tank and surrounding area with fire proof blanket protection)

We used a hacksaw and hammered down the remaining metal pieces so they were flat, bit messy but it works.

Grab the latch plate and bolt the latch and insert the cable into it as shown:

Re-install the latch plate:

Remove the LHS pannier lock and place the lever and run the cable around to it:

Re-install the tail end plastics and rack and re-install the pannier lock as shown:

Try installing the seat, if it doesn't latch down properly you have to ensure you had ground down the cut off sections enough.
Once it fits properly, use some black enamel paint to touch up the cut off sections so they don't rust.
Job all done, except don't forget to install some pillion pegs. Most rear pegs from different bikes fit.

Hope this helps anyone that wants to install a dual seat... now you can ride on
