Mornin' Pete, John et al...
Well clocked up another 600 odd km over the weekend (2 up), and as usual young Baz continues to delight with his chose of roads and destinations...but I digress.
The upshot of which is the bike performed as normal, with its now normal engine rattles of aging and worn components, much like its owner.

Rattly engine aside, its performance continues to amaze me (compared to my other 1100), in that its fuel consumption is a wonder...495km on 23lt on bog stnd 91 unleaded AND, literally begining to shred the rear after following Barry on the Bruxner to Casino. Maybe testiment to a very loose engine...dunno. We use to call em
Wednesday engines when I earned a living using spanners.
John, I am in little doubt that I had a stuck valve that's now returned and that one occasional a while back when I started it up at Uralla on that cold morning and it bellowed out a plume of blue smoke should have been a clue of oil (excess), getting down the guides. So logical to suppose that the top end has become somewhat carbonised. Im the years I have had the bike, its only had Motul and high kms aside, the condition of the bike and its stamped service book leads me to conclude the previous owners looked after it.
What I will do (just having filled the tank), is pop some Moreys upper cylinder lubricant in this tank full before the next ride. Oh, are you still planning to pop in??? I have a nice bottle of Shiraz

Cheers, the can:-)
