Firstly, would a week earlier suit better, away from the election day. As with most of our rides we would be on the road before the polling booths open, so that would mean ensuring we were back earlier enough for everyone to get to their voting position before 6pm.
The ride plan is simple, perhaps too boring for some but keep in mind the objective for this ride.
The plan is to meet at the Goodna Macca's carpark 8.30 for a 9.00 departure. An easy assembly point for both north and southsiders. I'm looking at just cruising up the Warrego Highway to Gatton and onto Grantham by 10.00ish. Spend an hour there, coffee, a chat, and refuel just for the sake of putting some cash through the servo as well. Depart by 11 and on up the range to Picnic Point for a brief stop to show the new arrivals to this state, the magnificent view back toward Brisbane. Depart 11.30 and head north through Toowoomba to Mt Kynoch and then head down to Murphy's Creek arriving 12.00ish. We then can spend a couple of hours, if necessary, to meet the new faces and have a bit more time to check out some of the more 'schmancy' ST's, mine NOT being one of those. Once again, upon departure, people can decide how they want to reach home. However, for most, I imagine a jaunt back down the Warrego will be the most convenient.
For those that have already replied, would the 18th suit better? I realise dates never suit everyone but it maybe better to steer clear of the 24th if there are enough to make a 'posse' on the 18th. What do ya all think?
Also a reminder, feel free to invite your non-ST-riding friends along.
Sorry I haven't done the fancy map thing. Truth is, I don't know how. Anyway, you will admit, you don't need it on this one.
Cheers.
Skip.
