Well we are coming to the end of our little adventure across the Tasman. After driving a motorhome on the south island I wish I had my bike. The whole island is one big twisty. considering the roads I'm surprised I saw very few sports or sports tourers but lots of Harleys. But I guess it's an agricultural nation so a tractor disguised as a motorbike makes sense. I did on my travels manage to plant my remaining Ozstoc cards on every ST I came across. So if you we're on the south island and you got a funny orange card on your tank and you followed it up, it was me. Let me say you guys have the best bikes for the best  sports touring environment I've ver seen.

I have only done a small part of it from Wellington (and yes it was exceptionally windy, the plane we were flying back on took three goes to land, and all in the airport were watching) to the wine country for some hard work at a conference. Sitting in the bus on such great roads made me really sad  :'(

11 days and I'm hopping on the big silver budgie to head home, retire and ride some roads with corners in them.  Can't wait.  It'll be goodbye canefields and hello twisties!

Aussie Road Rider magazine did an article and started off by saying,

Quote
"If you ride only one foreign country in your life, make it New Zealand.  If you ride only two, make it the North Island and South Island of New Zealand."

Having driven a motor home on both Islands, I concur. So many great Roads to so many beautiful destinations.

Glad I have a brother who lives there to give me a really good excuse to go back.

Cheers,
Gary
