F/S Jaycar 3486 lumen Driving Lights
« on: June 30, 2015, 05:03:28 PM »
Here is the Jaycar spiel.....

Why would you ever buy halogen or HID spotlights again?

These LED lights output over 3400 lumens of brilliant white light - that's more light than a 300W halogen! They are also completely shockproof, waterproof (IP68), rust proof, shatterproof, last for 50,000 hours, draw a measly 34W, turn on instantly, have a beam throw of up to 378m (for spotlight, flood = 183m), work off 12VDC or 24VDC, and can handle pretty extreme temperatures without fuss. A must have for any serious 4WD bull bar or roll bar, or for any other application where extreme ruggedness and blinding brightness are desired. Available in either spot or flood beam patterns, and fitted with marine grade 316 stainless steel fasteners.

Features:
- IP68 waterproof
- Shockproof
- 50,000 hour life
- Equivalent light to a 300W halogen
- Extreme

Specifications
• Beam pattern: Flood (SL-3918), Spot (SL-3919)
• Beam distance: Flood 183m, Spot 378m
• Lumen output: 3486
• Equivalent halogen lamp: 300W using 34 watts of power
• Input current: 2.4A (12Vdc), 1.2A (24Vdc)
• Operating temp: -40°C ~ 60°C
• Dimensions (mounted): 120(Dia.) x 82(D)mm (excluding bracket)

These are selling for $149 each or $133ea if you buy 2 or more at Jaycar......I have had these a few months and they are a great light but just not up to the distance that I got used to having HID's on everything else I drive, I'm still sticking with LED spots in another brand that have a more narrow beam than these lights for the distance I'm after.

The lights I'm selling are on the over mirror mounts.....this pic will give you a better idea of there size  ;-*

$150 for the pair  ;-*

It will be interesting to do a comparison with the Ericas (I only sold my soul and a few other bits not required) as from the writeup on the Krista2s they have more spot lighting, but not the spread.  Perhaps time to replace Erica with Sevina...or use both  :think1

I still have the 55W HIDs euro beams on the ST1100 so perhaps should try and do an initial comparison with the LEDs. On their own, the HIDs are still impressive, just a bit of lag time to come to full brightness.  LEDs are also more compact if you don't have mounting options that exist for the STs  :OldMan
