Kaoko cruise for ST1300
« on: August 20, 2015, 08:53:02 AM »
Does anyone have a Kaoko cruise for an ST1300.

Does it look like this.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kaoko-Motorcycle-Cruise-Control-for-Honda-ST1300-/291469312453?

Do you have instructions for it?  I have watched videos but they dont really show what it looks like to fit.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I have one Garry....it works well but I use it rarely.

Now as far as fitting goes.......it took 3 drunk ST owners about 2 hrs to install at midnight one night a couple of years ago  :whistle

If'n I was sober it would take 10 minutes....but for some reason the details of installation are sketchy  :||||

I have one, and it is quite effective, and quite unobtrusive on the bike.  However, it is not as easy to engage and disengage as the manufacturer would lead you to believe.  Installation is easy, once you figure out how to get the inner bar end weight parts out, which required two very small flat blade scewdrivers and some swearing.    If you get one before Balranald, bring it along and the drunks can help you fit it.  If you don't get one before Balranald, take my ST for a spin and try it out.

Yes its getting the bits out that looks interesting. I have one and assume at this point that it is the correct one. A lot of goods are not as easy to fit or use as the makers would have you believe, so I not surprised about that comment.

I will have a look at  instructions when I get the chance. PM sent to sirchilly.

I am thinking that if it took 3 owners 2 hours or so to fit, there must have been many drinks, sorry I mean distractions. :like

personal choice, but I have this one and love it, use it all the time if only for a second or 2 to reach for something with my right hand.

No problem, I love mine and wouldn't have any other but, I don't have heated grips either.

I have the Kaoko one... and love it.
Took about 40 mins to install one afternoon, and I use it on most of my rides.. especially on the long distance stuff as I can set the throttle to whatever speed I like and just relax..

It was a blessing when I picked up my trailer a few weeks back.. made the 18 hour day a breeze!
