Title: Wiring help needed
Post by: Simmo50 on April 07, 2017, 09:54:57 AM
Hi is there anyone in the perth area that would have a spare hour to connect some rear lights and possibly front strobes  To the switches on right handle bar of my st1100.
Been  trying for over a week to figure it out. Have a rear fuse box and earth box already fitted in rear pod.  Thanks

Its not too hard, here is a circuit I drew up to use the 1,2 switch. ignore the relay bit.

Actual connections may change depending on the strobes used.

Thanks for that. But I've seen this. Before and still can't figure it out. I'm using a el13strobe unit for the rear lights. People have tried to explain it to me  but can't do it.

Aha,

is it a flasher can or a relay, what sort of lights are you using

The lights are the standard original rear red lights. Not striving. I have a separate unit that controls the strobing .
effect.
Have the lights connected to this. But need to know how to get it working through switches.

OK,

So you need to switch power to the strobe control unit via the Switch grip using Sw 1, You have connections from the strobe unit to the light heads..

Do I read that correctly, what type of strobe controller are you using, having the wiring diagram will help.

I think I have a spare 9 pin plug for the switch jarness in my parts box, I can make up the connection harness easily.
