Title: Looking to buy ST1300 in WA
Post by: mr2u on March 30, 2021, 04:55:57 PM
Just wondering if anyone has or knows of any ST1300 for sale in WA.
A mate took mine out on the weekend for a ride (Before it broke down) and fell in love with it. He wants to buy mine, but sadley it may never run again.
I may (or may not have) killed the alternator when i jump started it a few weeks ago.  $1000 for new alternator and prob the same if not more for labour to replace it. Mine is not realy worth much more than $4500 when running (Ex Police bike with battle scars).

SOOOO im looking for another one for him.

Thx
Mr2u

I know of a very good police version but never commissioned as police. It was owned by tricky mick and is up for sale soon.

Regarding your alternator, Small Coil Rewinds in Geelong, cheap as and damn fine work.

I would be happy for the info if it becomes available Brock.

Thanks for the info, but i think a WA place would be more convenient. Ill look around as soon as i COMPLETELY pull apart my bike. I think they built the motor around the alternator.  Its worse than an air filter change on a GL1800, and thats a pain.

I think Wombat has a spare alternator on the self. I have one in the bike I am parting out, think it must be close to being exposed.

There's a thread in here about extracting it from the rear without needing to remove the engine.

Not sure exactly but my last KLR one was only $280 including postage

Here is the add for Micks bike, there is a bit more wiggle room for Ulysses or OzSTOC members.
