We arrived on Friday and had a look around.

The tide was out and there was a lot of beach (along with a lot of boats sitting on the sand).

We met up with Gadget and Shonee at the Vanuatu cabin at Tin Can Bay Marine Villas (Gadget had offered the spare room for us to use)
It is an awesome villa with an amazing view

In the arvo we went out for some dinner at the local fish n chips shop, the Snack Shack.
(Without any competition the wait was about an hour)

Saturday we decided to head out for a quick look at Rainbow Beach before lunch.
We had a little look at the beach then stoped by a local market.

We then continued on to lunch at Cafe by Farmer and Sun
The food was great and all from locals only.

(I forgot to get any photos but a few others did)

After lunch we headed back to the marina through some beautiful countryside

Sunday we went to breakfast at Cooloola Berries another location with local food
The food was great and everyone had a good time

After saying goodbye to everyone we decided to return to Rainbow Beach to check out the shops we didn't have the time to on Saturday.

We did a bit of shopping and were joined by Gadget & Shonee along with CallMeSteve & Ruth for lunch at the Surf Life Saving Club.
The food was good and had large sizes (They even had Chicken Parmigiana) and the view was good too.

We returned to the villa and spotted an old sinking boat

That night we had a BBQ dinner with Gadget & Shonee along with CallMeSteve & Ruth by the pool.
It was a great way to finish up our trip.

The next day we headed home.

I would like to thank everyone that was able to make it along to an RTE, it was great to be able to spend time with everyone.
Lastly a big thankyou to Gadget for an awesome weekend

Cheers
Shiney

I'm really glad to hear everyone emitted themselves.

We had a great time too.

Thank you all for your company and the good laughs we had along the way.

I do, and have, thanked Steve Hatherall from Spyder Enthusiasts, who organised the original itinerary last year in Sep.

That was indeed a very sad boat.  One of the locals told us that this is a regular occurrence. Folks buy a boat because they fall in love with the idea, then find they can’t afford to keep up the maintenance and so they abandon it.

I named this one the “Barry-J”, after my late father whose complete disregard of boating rules made him an expert in running aground.

I see you get more ST's to your RTE's than we do in South Australia.   :rofl

A lot of people do that with old buses too.  Buy them with the intention of making it into a motorhome, deciding it's too hard and leaving them to rot.
