In our Shop, we have a breast cancer awareness Friday, where we get all the staff to dress in pink, hence why you can see my smiling self wearing it...

This is one subject very close to my heart, for no other reason than the parts of the female body in question are amongst my favourites!! I love looking at them and I'm sure that God made them especially for men, regardless of their original intended purpose. So why don't more men take an active role in eliminating this scourge, by donating time and/or money to aid research into finding a cure for this terrible disease. To answer the question, Yes, I would be happy to wear pink if it would help, where and when???

I wear pink for the annual Pink Ribbon Ride held in Tamworth. I agree with Wizz, any help to rid the population of this terrible disease has to be worthwhile. Don't forget that blokes can get it too.

Well St'ers - there should be no shame at all - after all, it is only a colour - (we have all been conditioned to believe it is for female use only - WRONG!!!) - but a very significant colour - instutionalised over last 10-12 years through awareness - I wear the colour with pride and support where possible - my wife is an 18 year Breast Cancer survivor and as has already been stated - do what ever to ascertain/determine/research for the cure for all cancers and sufferers - I applaud all those who help. It is personal for us as my mother is currently going through the whole process.
The pink is always recognizable, and so many people do so many good things for the cause.
Maybe we should organise a pink ribbon ride in Toowoomba or something, just an idea.

There was one in Brisbane in October last year. Can't find it for this year.

I have sent them an email asking about Toowoomba, keep it a little different, and get a better response as it is not as diluted as trying to do it in brisbane

The Tamworth ride last October asked for $5.00 per person (rider or pillion) registration, sold food, pink clothing, badges, etc and drinks at the meeting point and lunch when back with refreshments at regrouping stops at own cost, and gave donated prizes (eg 4lt oil, tyre repair kit) to best dressed bike or riders. A great day, easy ride with good organised route and money going to good cause. We also have a blue ribbon ride (prostate cancer) a month later with similar set up, and the local Vintage Japenese club have a street motorcycle show to raise money and awareness about another terrible disease that may effect some of us.

I think a Pink Ribbon Ride is a really good idea, maybe we can do what we did a couple of weeks ago and make it a country wide OZStoc thing, each State doing their own ride on the day, and pooling the donations. I suppose Saaz, as National coordinator, should be the one running this (dobbed in Saaz!! :rofl). What does everyone think?

Adelaide has one every year organised by http://www.wima.org.au/wimasa/ (http://www.wima.org.au/wimasa/) but it's not on this years calender yet.

No details other than the ride goes to Mannum on 21st October

Yeah I'd wear "pink" in support of Breast Cancer awareness.
But I try hard to wear "BLUE" near everyday in support of Prostrate Cancer awareness. You see I have a really kool big scar that says I once had it, to show I survived it and know what its about and the consequences of having it.

In all seriousness, I fully support the Pink Ribbon Ride, even though I've not had any family member diagnosed with breast cancer. Blue Ribbon day does have significant meaning to me, as my dad died from it over 30 years ago.
