Hi Everyone
I'm looking for 2 White ST1300's for a business venture. I'm currently in the Feasability Study Stage of the venture.
So if you've heard of a white 1300 for sale or seen one on the Web please reply post the link.
Cheers
Sabie

Hmmmm.. maybe we could try and find some hens teeth as well.. :crackup
Maybe you could check out the government auctions such as Pickles at the Bohle, or even Grays online. I believe the QPS may be retiring some STs. I was talking to one of our local riding constabulary not long ago and he indicated he wanted to buy his ST as it was coming up for replacement soon.
-
whats the idea sabie? :CB--
:wht11
-
Hey Bloodbike, no offence but ill have to just keep that one under my hat for a while, I hope you understand.
Cheers
Sab

Sounds like an interesting project... I can only imagine what ideas you have for white STs... good luck in your search
-
Sabie
I have a Pickles contact and will find out whether any more are likely to go to auction. Good luck with the venture. I'm also in the thinking stages of a bike related venture for the future ;-)
-
WA currently has ST13s so keep an eye out over there. Police FJRs should be more readily available, but may not suit your plan.
-
My application for employment is in the mail to you Sabie........I supose i could slum it on a white ST1300 for the right remuneration package...... :Blow
-
If you can't get white ST's you could always go for small ST lookalikes, the CF MOTO 650 tourer comes in white.. :wink1 :crackup
-
The commute to Townsville is a bit of a killer for me, but I have the time...

Will these bikes have sidecar arrangements fitted ? STONE motorcycle funeral scene 1974 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyj7YeXHhcA#ws)
-
No Still, no sidecars....
It may not get off the ground..... I'm researching the Feasability at the moment, but what I can say is I've only found 2 other businesses in Australia who provide a similar service to my idea.
-
looks like a clip from Stone
-
Wedding bikes? Wide load escorts? Urgent blood delivery? Shrunken limo service?
-
Private Highway Patrol. just think of the fines you could collect.. o:) o:) o:)
-
:think1 Unless you need the extra wiring and switches from the Police model :cop you could always get the a new paint job on some 2nd hand ST1300s?
-
Full marks to Shiney. :thumbsup

These 3 all seem related :Whipped

Wedding Bikes.....very little call if any
Wide loads escort ........ You need to undertake a training program and hold a permit, under qld law escort and pilot are 2 separate things. Already a heap of well established pilot wide load businesses around.
Urgent blood transfers ...... Little point in Townsville, the district base hospital is here so there's nowhere to really transfer the blood to. Otherwise they use aircraft for outlying towns.
Sorry guys, good try....
-
Nobody has mentioned the obvious. Impersonating a Police Officer ? >:()
I'm offerring mine for a paint job Sabie, but the rider comes with it.
-
Sabie you may as well just tell them..........ok then I will !!!
They are to be convert for his new business......Townsville Heavy Haulage "You call we Haul"

-
He's going to put huge refrigerated topboxes on them and be a motorcycle Mr Whippy.. :rofl
-
Now I really want to know. My guess was wedding bikes, but seeing as that was ruled out. I have no idea.
Maybe if you told us we could help you out?

There's been a lot of talk in here about trailers...
-
That would require a refrigerated trailer i'd suspect.
So we are now looking at a B-Double set up ...
A fridge pan for the " final journey " & folding wing sided B trailer for general freight haulage.
Perhaps a government grant could be applied for to necessitate preliminary engineering designs ?
ST Haulage ( a division of Smurf Transport ) has a catchy name i think ....

Hey Silver D .. Here's the prototype

-
Lots of traction, but corners not so well
-
Taking advantage of the "bum's on seat's" business model you are using,
perhaps making it methane powered will attract the green market segment & lower operating cost's :butt

Still researching, I've found a bike that may better suit my purposes. Just got to contact a few companies to see if they'll use the business if I set it up.

Whew. That's OK then. Not much chop at my bike recognition.

It's a krack-a-slacky voyager. Thinking about turning 2 of them into:
This

So rather than $30,000 something each, the Kawa's are $13,000 each some even less.

ahh Pockey .... you've seen the body, all be it in Motorcycle clobber but even then................. YOU'RE JOKING.... :o
-
Sabie,
There is a company down south that is trying to get this off the ground in Queensland also. There are a couple of issues that they are finding including police permission. I'd be happy to discuss this with you off the forum. Send me your number. I would hate for you to spend alot of time any possibly money and not be able to see your plan to fruition.

Update on the WA Police ST1300 I posted that was up for auction at Pickles, Welshpool. Auction finished today and it sold for $6,800 (2006 model). I was very tempted until the price kept rising!
