Expressions of interest (EOI)
EOI are requested from those who would like to attempt this ride. The EOI will close on the 30 April 2014.

After the 30/4/14 we will ask for confirmation and payment of monies, (please read the General Information below) if we have enough starters.
The 2014 IBA OZSTOC SS1600K.
This ride is being conducted under the strict guidelines of the Iron Butt Association (IBA) and is managed by the Australian ST Owners Club (OZSTOC).
This ride has been established for members of OZSTOC so as to encourage safe long distance riding.
At the completion of this ride members will be presented with their IBA OZSTOC SS1600K certificate, other items described below and accordingly their membership to the IBA (if not already a member). Please read the general information below to see how this works.
Date of ride – Saturday 18 October 2014
Route - http://goo.gl/maps/bkkZX (http://goo.gl/maps/bkkZX) It is 1770Km in distance (there is a bit of Oz history to the distance), the start will be at Coffs Harbour NSW with a turn a round at the Dog on the Tuckerbox located near Gundagai NSW then return to Coffs Harbour.
Departure – 0200Hrs (2am)
We require a minimum number of 10 riders for this ride to go ahead.
A few recommendations:

• Riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace, as opposed to riding as a single, monolithic group - it's much safer and more efficient. Riders will naturally ride in small groups (two or three riders) based upon riding style, fuel range, bladder size, etc.
General Information
Riders will need to pre-register and pay upfront. There will be no refunds of any monies should a rider not attend or fail to complete the ride. The following from the IBA; The cost will be $43 per rider (certificate, plate back, pin) OR $33 (certificate only), however, IBA cannot make any refunds for no-shows, non-finishers, etc., except for the cost of the pin and plate (i.e., the labor is paid to a subcontractor to produce the certificates cannot be refunded). To us, this always seems to cause some hardship on members of your club that might feel cheated they cannot get their money back, but we see no workable alternative for refunds. The IBA does not make money (although we do have some full-time employees), however there is no way to recoup the costs when many riders cancel out of an event (it goes without saying that your ride budget is also impacted by no shows if refunds are granted). Another possible (and likely), downside is that the mileage from the computer programs used to calculate mileages prior to the ride are off enough that people ride significantly more miles than we credit them on the pre-printed certificates... Additionally, on a few occasions, we have issued certificates for one route and when the ride day came, the route was changed (a few cases were weather related, another the route was changed when some roads closed). In those cases, you will have to have the certificates redone and remailed. I cannot stress the problems this will cause. While we will work with you to try and do the reprints as cheaply as possible, you can expect a minimum of $6 per certificate + postage if your club handles distribution or $9 per certificate if we have to remail them to each rider individually. But the advantage with this method is that you can hand the successful finisher his or her award at the finish line, which means the ride, from an administrative standpoint, has been completed.
Requirements/rules
• A copy of the waiver (this will come in your package) will need to be completed and brought along to the start of the ride.
• Riders, in accordance with the waiver, will also need to show at the start of the ride, a valid Driver’s license and proof of personal injury and property damage liability insurance coverage.
• All monies are to be paid by the required date.
• There is only one route for all riders.
• Riders will need to obtain documentation (e.g., a gas receipt) along the route to assure no one takes a shortcut.
• There will be a common start time for all riders, regardless of when they actually leave. Riders will be directed to leave at short intervals.
• All riders will be logged in and signed off on the Group Ride spreadsheet. Odometers will be recorded by the great volunteer/s (ST2UP and Pockey) at the start and finish locations.

We need to have a minimum 10 people to undertake this ride as per the IBA guidelines, but we will accept up to 15 to undertake the ride. If you are considering entry into the realm of a long distance riding with a IBA certified ride or wish to add to your current IBA statistics this is an ideal opportunity.
The collective wealth of Long Distance riding experience in this group is a resource to assit you reach this goal if a IBA ride is on your motorcycle riding horizon.
This ride is planned to take place on the eastcoast where the highest concentration of members reside, we needed to give this IBA attempt the best possible chance of patronage to prove this a cause worthy of an annual IBA ride somewhere in Australia each year by OzSTOC.

Sorry Guys But I notified TJ189 that I will be a non starter due to a Back injury which has so far had me off the bike for 9 weeks so far.
I am hoping to start doing some riding this week :runyay
But any long distance rides will have to be put on hold for a while :-(((
