Title: Some of our ride 8th June 2015

Our local supermarket was only open a few ours on Monday due to the Queens Birthday holiday so we rode over to the one at Jamestown.

With the WA rally next year getting closer I'm working out different locations to mount the cam to give some variation for the footage that will be taken. The roads round here aren't the best for vibration free filming so I put the camera on the plastic above the tail light so we get a rearward view. There is a little rattling noise from the top case which is just inches above the cam but mostly the exhaust noise is evident.

We rode from Jamestown back to Peterborough via Hallett which takes us through the wind farm with some of the turbines seen in some parts of the trip. This is the road the video was taken on. https://goo.gl/maps/U3rHs (https://goo.gl/maps/U3rHs)

Video quality is good, Alan. I can imagine that rearward recording could b entertaining especially if u are in a group riding situation where u r recording the riding styles of following riders while cornering or overtaking or overtaking riders in front. Also, windey, undulating roads would b interesting. Best used I think mixed up with forward facing footage. Quite a lot of editing required 2 get entertaining results. Music always adds a dimension.

All these things I'm sure u know, however I find that long sequences of rear facing footage on flat roads brings on some symptoms of car-sickness.

I managed 90 seconds before I had to jump off.
It sure makes 100 kph look fast when you watch it that way!

It's all trial and error at the moment......I cut about 10-12 minutes of the straight stuff out. We don't have a lot of what you call "twisties" around here and most bends are posted 85 k/h plus. Just thinking of the rare shot or two that world be better looking back rather than forward. Thinking of trying a mount on the wing which could have either forward or rear looking view.
