Driving lights.

Hi  guys I am after some advice on driving lights. I don't know whether to get spot or flood lights ? A man who sell lights said to get one of each. Spot on the rhs and flood on the Lhs ?? Is this true.?

I have two spot, aimed down the road, that allow me to see a long way (easier to see the big bunnys). Flood will light up the sides more but not have distance. One of each is a compromise, distance view is not as good but.

The headlight of the ST has pretty good side illumination, so I would suggest two spot.

if you are only going for one set of driving lights, there is a HID set from a distributor in WA that does the spot and wide beam in one.  From memory they use the term "euro beam"

Currently my bike is set up with a set of HID Spot beams coming from over the mirrors and a set of LED under the mirror for the wide spread light closer to the bike.  My thinking is that the spot beams alone will give that extra bit of distance as Brock suggested.  The setup with the euro beam appears to be a little bit of a compromise on the distance but in real term may not, reports from guys that are using the euro beam are that it is very good.

I have 2 55W pencil beams aimed forwards an outwards to light up the tabledrains for 'bunny' spotting, and my HID headlight array set forwards.

This is adequate, but not even in the same league as TJ's or OzRider's awesome setups.
