Shiney's Lady Wife
« on: May 16, 2013, 09:51:22 PM »
Hi guys

I'm Shiney's wife Carrol most of my friends
call me Caz I answer to both.

I accompany Shiney since my seat is on back
I like to sometimes go fast, but I've no control over that..
Shiney's a good bloke he takes it easy for me
since I'm ill and bumps bruise me.
Not saying saying I'm fragile just some rides
are better than others. ( less bumps)
Love our Blue ST as she has a super comfy seat.

G'day Caz,

Welcome aboard, (or is that welcome a broad - sorry), the forum.

Your presence is important cause my wife (Terese) needs as much encouragement as possible to come on rides. She says it's cold, hot, dangerous, uncomfortable after a while, can't sleep, can't talk to me, can't listen to radio or CD and one time we even fell off together!

And I say "Darl", I say "Sweetheart", I say "Honey" - "You're missing the point - it's adventure!". :runyay

I'm trying to do what I can about the above "problems". Your presence and the other ozStoc ladies helps, however we have only met one, that is "Mrs Atoyot - Lindy". If your health improves it would be wonderful to meet u at Ebor, (and Shiney who is one of the real positive influences in ozStoc), (if u were planning to go, that is).

Thank you all for the warm welcome, lovely
to see many whom I've already meet.

Thanks again Stinky Pete for the tour and
it was a pleasure to chat with Chris and yourself.
:)

ST George you need to let her know that it's
something you guys can do together.
Shiney and I have far different hobbies I
enjoy re-doing furniture and he enjoys his
gaming but we both enjoy going for the
adventures and rides to eat ( at some of these
points some of us lady's have a look at the
local shops ) It's something I myself enjoy
and it a great social event and I get to meet
and I already have, the most wonderful people.
It might also help if you get a headset like
ours so the two of you can chat and listen to
music. We have a SMH 10 which is a blue tooth
headset which connects through your phone
so you can listen to your own choice of tune
or chat to each other. Myself I like to listen to
the wind in my hair and snap a few photo's of the
scenery from my seat.

Thanks everyone ;)
I'm not sure if Shiney and I will make the next
day ride as Shiney may have to work.
But try to do a few RTE as they are good fun
See you around  :blu13

I have got music sorted that works thru the comms package that I inherited from Desty. It uses a SD card in the GPS system and works well. However the pillions microphone was missing from the bits and pieces so I ordered one and when it arrived I found that one of the cables was missing the connection to plug the mic into. This part is no longer available, so I will try and go to Jaycar and buy the bits and connect it myself.

I'll try and post up a cupla pics of the problem first and let the gang comment if they can help.

Haven't had much to do with electrickery but understand the basics like +ve, -ve and fuses! So this will be a learning curve. It's important tho cause talking is the most important thing when the bike discovers something that u might miss in a car or its time for a break and a stretch.
Anyway, thanx for the tips Caz.  :hatwave

I gave up on bluetooth intercoms.  The time it took to initialise them every time you turned them on was a PITA.  Then, as you say, the communication wasn't always great.
I've seen reports of users communicating quite some distance (20+ metres) with them very effectively, so they do work for some people.
Hard wired has obvious drawbacks, but their stability more than compensates.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Bluetooth has come a long way, Shiney, Teela and I used Sena SMH10 Bluetooth units for the trip to SA and back for national rally, and they where fantastic, clear as a bell, over 12 hours battery life, and we had around 1km of distance between us a times with Shiney being at the tail end of the group and myself leading.

On the return trip we had 3 units synced together and they worked flawlessly, it was a clear open 3 way conversation.

Fully waterproof, we well and truly tested that out at one point!

My unit when I turn it on automatically syncs with my iPhone, which functions as my GPS/Music/Phone, all is very simple, with very little fuss to use  :thumb
