It will be interesting to look at Dale, to find the cause of that. May be I can find a fix that will be of benefit to others. That depends on Ray having kept the fuse block but.

Rays description of the fault has me puzzled a bit, but electronics can do strange things sometimes.

Yep, still have the fuseblock. Dunno why I didn't just hurl it over the fence!! ( age must be mellowing me! ) I think it is the same one you had from Eastern Beaver  ( made in China ).

Gotta agree about electronics giving strange faults at times, I used to see some strange things in my former life as an electrician.

I dont have a fuseblock Ray, I ordered the fuses that I could wire up as needed. I have the crimping tools  so why not. Bring it along to the next meet, and I will take it away for some testing....

Ok this is the most frustrating thing I have come across in a long while. After all the dicking around I have traced the voice level connection problems to my Cardo Q3 headsets. Many thanks must go to all involved for their patience especially Pezzz, Yorkie and Turtle. On Friday night after redoing my Sena sr10 to UHF cable it still gave problems with transmission level. Pezzz kindly pulled his STead apart and changed radios. No difference. We changed SR10's, no change. We paired Pezzz's Interfone headset to SR10 and perfect. I went home and checked second unit on Pit Crews helmet so I was using complete independant headset mounting microphone and speakers. Cant hear a thing. Emailed Cardo in America and they say cant help because it is not an issue with intercomm which I might add works fine. Has anyone had issues with Cardo units. I will be contacting agent here tomorrow to voice my concerns. I have also posted on STOCsite. Overall I am not looking forward to changing to Sena units and getting rid of Cardo 6 month old units and the expense also not being able to rebuke all those unflattering comments about my riding techniques.

So by re-doing your SR10 to UHF lead do you mean extend the lead length or are you referring to the plug ends ?? Just extended mine by 1.5 mtrs and it was  :|||| but done now.

I feel your pain with the potential change on the horizon.....just pulled Bikercom out to put Sena in.

Cheers

I guess it could be Cardo/sena compatibility, which means that there would be no fix in the near future as its not either manufacturers problem   :||||

www.mckayheadsets.com in Sydney can do up custom leads. STroppy organise some leads a few metres long that connect a undien handheld and GME bike powered UHF radios to the SR10. They do the customs leads for Sena so look very professional (especially comapred to my home made GME to Autocom leads!).

The lead is actually fine. It is the communication between the cardo and the sena.

Thanks for that and my handle on the American site is Surveywa
I have contacted the supplier here and they dont want to know. I have sent a second email to America head office so we will see what happens. They say they are a leader in technology so they need to put up or shut up. My alternatives is to have a single sena unit and swap when 2up riding (not likely) or spend another 400.

I can lend you a sena unit for the trip over to Ballarat, and a mobile charge lead. You would just need to get the mount to suit your need, unless the standard mount with speakers would do the trick

For the uniden 7700 we are using a patch lead has to be added to the UHF from ext speaker out to pin 5 on mic, then the senna lead has to be terminated with RJ45 plug.
I posted this up earlier somewhere.
