Could do without the rain but have done it before and I say to myself, "I have a shower each night so this is no different, just a bit cooler."

The bit that worries me is that sometimes I am the tallest thing on the road and they have forcast lightnun an rumblin.

Safe riding Wombat and Pezz. Switchback does not go out the shed in the rain.  :popcorn

Yes. We have had every article of clothing absolutely drenched. Trying to dry out in Balladonia right now. Air cons on heat full throttle. See you tomorrow.

Leaving border village tomorrow to head west, likely with the WA crew from Eucla on. I am off to Esperance, they may go more direct depending on the weather.

Turnout was way down, to be expected given the weather. But a great time had by all, as usual. Wombat had the honour of getting the pudding to BV as the custodian had a migraine so could not make it all the way.

Further updates here when a few more get home or time.

In the meantime, time to keep on going clockwise.

Maybe you should carry a hair dryer with you? I find they are good for drying clothes.

Abridged edition.

Friday.
We left for our overnight stop at Ceduna arrived after 7:30 pm. Unhitched the trailer in front of the cabin and headed for the On The Run (Old BP roadhouse) and Hungry Jacks for some food and then back to the cabin (more like a motel unit) for the night.

Saturday
Out of bed at the ungodly hour of 5:15 am for the 6:00 am start of the final 480 km run to the border. Arrived there at 11:55. Rain free all the way to just after Nullarbor Road house and about 120 km out of the last 180 to the border was rain. We planned to leave at 3:00 pm for Ceduna on our way out to the bike noticed 3 white 1100's near ours (took photos as well). Forty five minutes later we were on our way back to the cabin and arrived at 10pm.

Sunday
Arrived home at 5:12 pm after a casual ride home from Ceduna where we left at 8 am. Excitement for the day was two 'roos about 50 km from home. Saw the first, and the second one was almost up the first one's rear end. Had visions of hitting the second, missed its tail by mms. Total travelled about 2160 km and never saw a live roo until 50 km from home.......funny that.

Left Border Village a bit after 8.30 and arrived in Kalgoorlie around 4 pm . . Only saw one live roo all day . . A big dead camel just west of Balladonia . . No real incidents along the way . . Stiff headwind all the way, so used more fuel . .

A good ride and nice to meet some of the WA OZSTOC Mob . . SAAZ will be exploring the SE of WA for a while and then heading North . . I will spend about 5 days in Kalgoorlie exploring it and surrounds before heading back to Canberra . .

Alan, the 3 white 1100's would have been Wombat, Pezzz and Hoffy.

Had a call from Wombat 30 mins ago, his clutch/final drive has gone about 50k south of Coolgardie, he parked it up in the bush, I will drive out in the morning with my trailer on a rescue mission.

I've successfully completed my first FarRide.   I wasn't going to go all the way home today, but got into the groove and kept going.   0830 departure from Border Vilage and arrived home at 2130.   1291km in 13 hours for an OA of 99.3 km/h, including a north/south cross town to get home.   :runyay

Hahahahaa .... yeah, I was in the groove between Eucla and Norseman and was going to keep going but stayed too long in Norseman and then had an issue on the way to Coolgardie that would make it way too cold a ride and in a bad patch for skippys at a bad time. Everyone is safe and OK but I will let Wombat explain our hiccup in detail later.

I leave you guys to yourself, and look what happens  :OldMan

Was a great ride from BV to Esperance. Thanks to the WA guys for ideas for spending 5 days or so down the South.

Only one wedge tail on the ground, well to the side, and only one roo in a 60 zone in a small village nibbling the grass (I had the Eric's on so it may not have wanted to look up or move  :runyay

Off again tomorrow towards Albany, at least 5 days to get to Bunbury area, can be more.

Nearly drowned rats and others (two from Canberra, three from WA and two from SA plus one taking the pic) making it a Tri-State meet up.
