It's actually Mile End South, but I should be good for this.

I should be good for this, despite Vili's having taken the Beef Rendang pie off the menu  :angry-old-man-smiley-emoticon

That's a shame.  I think I'd like a beef rendang pie.

Bodo, Langers and I met for lunch at Villis, which is a bit of a 24 hour institution in Adelaide. For the first time in many years, I had a Pie Floater, which is only ever seen in Adelaide.   It's a meat pie, served upside down in a soup bowl, and  drowned in a thick pea soup, and a dollop of tomat sauce.     Years ago Pie Floaters were only available from a couple of iconic Pie Carts, located at the Adelaide Railway Station and in Victoria Square.   They were often a late night street meal, consumed on the way home from a particularly big night out.

Norwood also had a pie cart:
"Norwood
When the Norwood pie cart closed in 2001 it had been trading in the same place on the corner of George St and the Parade for 80 years. In 1988 an 'old resident' recalled that in the early 1930s a floater cost threepence - 'a penny for a plate of peas and tuppence for a pie, if separate.' "
Being a Port Magpies supporter I wouldn't have been seen dead in that toffy neck of the woods.
The Town Hall pie cart on the otherhand - the occasional boozy Saturday night ended with a pie floater. I think my record was 3 pie floaters in one sitting. I may have been a major contributor to greenhouse gas levels spiking the following day.
