Wow! - I needed to take a breath just READING the list! Nice work.     :eek

Try giving the 'Love n Kisses' a few quid and send her to Fortnum & Mason's or Selfridges for the day... Oh, it will cost you - but what price do you put on your relationship with the ST huh?       :wink1        :grin

Cheers, Diesel

Oh yeah - PICS PLEASE!       :well

Oh dear, oh dear it's raining here yet again so doing the garden is out. I wonder what I can do in the dry while it's so wet? Hmm.

I know, a couple of minutes in the garage should do it.  :thumb

I will start to put the bike back together tomorrow.

Big holdup has been trying to organise changing the tyre valves. Previous owner had put on poxy scooter valves which were so split it was scary. Colour matched angled Ariete alloy valves going on and they should be strong enough to carry the tpms sensors.

WSO power supplies, intercom unit, rear brake electro pods, front glimmers, stebel, headlight lamps, FF75s, light brackets, highway blades, left fairing pocket 4 way sockets, repacked wheel bearings, new pads, new oil, new final drive oil, V-Stream, 2 reservoir bracket Ram mounts, seats, rubber water sheet under seats, arm rests, switches for glimmers/intercom/WSO system all in, new plate ordered, colour matched tax disc holder, gear position indicator, new top box plate, 8 way fuse block fitted below pre-load adjuster, Ram mount on right pannier handle, tailbrights, badges, bar risers c/w powerlet socket, all now complete.

Just now got to get the valves done, reassemble the lot and start riding.

Only other outstanding items really are very minor and won't impact ride time. Tank cover/bag and pannier courtesy lights are examples.

I am surprised that I can insure this bike for £80 less than I could NH478M.

New Evoline 3 arrives tue or wed.

Somehow a few month's work have happened in just a week! It's so much easier second time around.

Regards to all.

Ram mount on right pannier handle

to mount what?  And please don't say "a ram".    :p
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The Ram mount on the right side pannier is to mount the wife's satnav. Two up she navigates...........

.
........and warns me about speed, comments on people's gardens, complains about needing another coffee, asks why we can't stop at that distillery we just passed, let's me know when she just has to take a comfort stop, etc, etc, etc.  |-i

The bike's almost back together. New valves on today, balanced the wheels myself and back on plus all but a couple of bits of bodywork back on. Mounted the glimmer switch.

Photos in a few days cos we're taking some time up North in the RV for a bit.

First ride will be two up to an outdoor theatre on August 1st evening.

Here it is. Almost finished. Just the turn indicator alarm to fit now once I find it!

The Hellas need to be mounted on new brackets as the stock ones don't allow sufficient elevation for the beams to align properly on the road. Ordered up the stainless strip off ebay and I'll fabricate them soon.

Had our first rideout today (150 miles) and the knee while stiff and slightly unbending now, worked well.

I can't say enough about how useful the highway blades were. Without them riding would have been very uncomfortable for the leg and I reckon that even if I decide that I need the deflector kits on, I can reach the blades easily with just a minor mod to the kit in way of the maintenance lids.

Having said that it was pouring down most of the way and the stock fairing kept us nice and dry anyway.

Wife and me are both convinced the machine is way smoother than the 2003 model. The PFI has been sorted so I don't need to fit an FCE this time. The tyres are BT020s and I'm impressed and will be sticking with them. No more Avons or Pirellis for me as the 020s are so quiet and talk about planted!

That's it then!

I'm so grateful for all the support you blokes have laid down for me these past few months - thank you.

Best regards
PJ
