I don't have a list as long as TJs and I doubt if I ever will.

- Towbar (includes wiring)
- Vista Throttle Lock
- OEM rear rack
- RJays Top Case
- Saddlemen Gel Seat
- Tinted 10cm Higher Screen
- Mid Sized Classic Trailer. (my second one, had a smaller black one which we bought for the 1100 before we got it)
- LED light upgrade on trailer
- Dash Shelf: only used for shared car GPS at the moment.
- Waterproof 2 socket 12 volt power supply (on shelf)
- Hi- level LED brake light on Top Case.
- Wiring in place to add extra lighting above mirrors. (still deciding between LED and HID)
- the home made goat skin seat cover
- Headlight globe adaptor ring
- 55/60W H4 Globes replaced the Xenon H4 ones after one failed.
- Replaced a well used (153,000 Kms) OEM shock with a Progressive rear shock

Added:-
Third Gear Top Case
Aftermarket Saddlebag Liners
Reflectors on rear of side cases

thanks for adding your list Alan  :thumbs I think listing what each of us has will add to the ideas for other owners and give them an idea what we utilise for our own types of riding.

Lets see, have to remember some things that are hidden away and ones tried but not used at the moment:

1996 ST1100 police model:

*Laminar LIP on OEM screen
*Eagle screens higher and wider tinted screen (not on at the moment)
*Moorehouse seat (slightly lower, bought it off a former member)
*sheep skin seat cover (not on just at the moment)
*Givi rack and topbox (not on at the moment, just trying the next setup for a while)
*Gearsack rack with aerial mount on it - using a couple of gearsacks I have had for years
*Autocom comms + bluetooth module (used to use it for the mobile, currently not in use)
*Garmin Zumo 660 + bike cradle - bike powered and plugged into the Autocom - used to interface with the mobile
*GME 3420 UHF bike powered CB - plugged into Autocom
*Battery bug - shows battery voltage and estimated battery life - beeps when voltage drops too low
*Fenda extenda
*Fork Gaiters
*Front fork progressive springs and gold valve emulator
*Fournales rear air shock
*Cigarette lighter - use to power car GPS but now for general use
*HID H4 headlight bulbs
*HID 4" euro pattern driving lights
*Police light brackets
*Switch for headlight on/off - useful for having HID lights off when starting and for powering things without headlight on or bike started
*Modified headlight housing - can now use normal H4 bulbs
*Fuse box up the front - used to power lights and heated grips - power is ignition on
*MCCruise control
*Oxford heated grips
*Radiator protector
*Modified bike power wiring - instead of power going through ignition switch then back down to the fuse boxes, ignition powers a relay near the battery to directly power most things. Also bypasses a know problem with the main power connector overheating and failing.
*Staintune exhausts - the early ones without removable baffles. Only replaced as bought cheap, and original exhaust had broken bracket.
*CTEK battery charger harness
*K&N Air filter
*NGK Iridium plugs

I'd also be interested to know a little about the iridium plugs, are they better than standard, and if so, in what way. I've got 25,000kls on my standard plugs and they never miss a beat, but I'm interested to know.

And I have no doubt you'd be the best farkle..........you're certainly an asset to OzSToc!! :grin

I bought a few sets of the iridums ages ago, selling off the spares to members.  It was from the UK I think, which surprisingly was the cheapest place.  They worked out at $10 a plug.  The iridums work for a long time, first set 80,000kms only replaced because on fouled due to that cylinder running too rich, which I have fixxed)or so, current set about 70,000kms.  I would not say they increase performance as such, but they perform like new over a much longer time. The standard plugs can also go much longer than the recommended interval.

And here is the place http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/powersparks?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:1181 (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/powersparks?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:1181) look for CR8EHIX-9.  Exchange rate has shifted a bit since I bough the last sets.

Couch.  I have reason to believe (hope) the bodies were clad.  The seat was to be built for riding, so riding apparel would seem apropos.     >:()

Boy your lists look might impressive and my list looks pretty miserable so I won't post it....  BUT I would NEVER purchase a bike which had a TOW BAR fitted as it really knocks the shit out of the bike over time.  Especially drive shafts..

I'm not sure how a tow bar does that. I find they are an essential piece of kit if you want to tow a trailer.

I know that ST 1300's are TOUGH, but my mates who tow 3-400 kilo trailers (with their BMW's) have all had drive shaft failures, one was at Womera and a long way to get trailered home.  A 300 kilo bike, 50 kilos luggage, 200 kilos riders, I don't think they were designed to pull nearly a tonne. Anyway have a good holiday....

 ........ tow 3-400 kilo trailers ........

:eek  :eek  :eek  :eek
Holy smokes thats a lot of trailer..my empty trailer only weighs 50 something kilos, I would have to pack it with bricks to weigh that much.

No wonder they broke their bikes.

I think it also depends on whether they have a single swing arm or not.
I was speaking to a guy on the Border Run who said that towing with only a single swing arm on the bike puts a lot of stress on the drive shaft.
With a U shaped swing arm (like the 1100 has and I guess the 1300) the pull is evenly distributed down the arm and no stress is induced onto the drive shaft.
My 2c anyway ...  each to their own.
I would not be without mine now.....   :thumb

Same here when I replaced the final drive. Drive shaft splines were ok at 158,500 km and tow bar was fitted over 8 years ago.

The problem lies with the drive shaft on the BMW, I have heard reports of shaft failures with normal riding, let alone with trailers. ST towbars bolt to the chassis, not the swing arm, so not sure where the loading problem comes form.

Also, the trailer laden weight should not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehjicle, so if you are towing a 400Kg trailer behind a 300Kg bike you liable to lots of trouble, not the least being mechanical failure. :cop :law

Quite a difference. The original front springs had gone soft, as is common. The rear shock was also on the soft side through old age. Doing the front and back tightens up the handling and the bike rides better as well. With soft front springs most of the travel is used up just getting on the bike so it does not ride the bumps as well.  I went for progressive springs in the front as the rear Fournales shock is air only so progressive in its springing. I tried some straight rate springs in the front but it did not match the rear that well.  But any replacement rear shock will be better than a worn out OEM one.

Hey Saaz, how much difference was there when you put the progressive springs and rear shock on

Mine is short and sweet, and I have done none of them. They were on the bike when I got it

The list of existing ones is getting longer too. I keep finding more as I get to know the bike.

New ones that I have added.

It may (probably will) be is being added to as time goes by.

I have just added a windscreen extension I found here:

https://midwoodblvd.com/products/motorcycle-windshield-extension?fbclid=IwAR3POcxSMbUcZqGer5QdBRUahYEpUdRLrm6MlaOFWroDd7u7Ft89pgdNjC4 (https://midwoodblvd.com/products/motorcycle-windshield-extension?fbclid=IwAR3POcxSMbUcZqGer5QdBRUahYEpUdRLrm6MlaOFWroDd7u7Ft89pgdNjC4)

It is supposed to cut windnoise etc, but I haven't ridden with it yet. It was very easy to fit, although very tight on the screen (which I think is a good thing)

I will pass on my impressions of its effectiveness or otherwise after I have had a run with it in place, so after the RTE on Sunday.

So. Good and bad with this.

Yes, it cuts the wind noise.

Yes, it reduces the buffeting at face level and makes riding with the visor open more than a crack quite a bit more comfortable.

No, it isn't really windscreen quality optically. Mine has heat ripples inside the acrylic that distort the view quite noticeably, and make it hard to have a clear view on the dirt (it smooths everything out, visually).

That said, if I can find a broken windscreen that I can salvage the top half of, I will make my own and use the mounts off this.

That's a bit of a bummer!  :fp

I know they aren't cheap but I can really recommend BikeQuip's taller & wider screens.
I nearly always ride with my helmet visor wide open yet I'm still able to look over the top of the screen...

Just had a look at that. Unfortunately the wallet isn't fat enough at the moment.

Anyone got a standard in passable condition cluttering up a corner of the shed?
Title: Re: Farkle Lists

Pre-Aug 2017, I had a windscreen extension on my ST1300.

It was effective in reducing the wind noise and buffeting, but I wanted a cleaner look provided by the higher and wider Bike Quip screen, perhaps the same as the one in Russell's link.  The extension went to Denis, not sure if he still has it on his ST1100.

Not sure what I paid, but I'm sure less than the figure in the link.  This was due to a bulk buy back in 2017 courtesy of West Aussie Glen.

I bought my Bikequip screen back in 2019...and it's still selling at the same price today!  :thumbsup

With the exchange rate back then £167.00 worked out to $321.00, not cheap I know but I reckon it was worth every penny cent...

Met up with Langers very briefly yesterday and collected the top half of a stock screen. Thanks Mark.

When it gets cool enough to spend time in the shed again, I will fit the brackets to it and have another go.

That would have been some decent saddle time for at least one of you.

Not me unfortunately. I was in the car with the Boss, on the way home from visiting the second son.

It didn't end as well as it could have though. I rode from Birdwood back through to Verdun and then onto the freeway. One kilometre up the freeway and the bike started surging really badly. Long story, short, an hour and a half on the side of the road, consultation with motorcycle riding RAA man, and then restarted and quietly rode home without further incident. I strongly suspect loss of coolant so some time in the next month or so (I'm a bit busy with other projects at the moment) it'll be off with the fairing and stripping the bike down for serious investigation of the problem. It is a good thing I have a second bike.

Bugger. I hope it is something minor, Mark.

I really enjoyed the extension, it was far better than i thought
But I upgraded the Spyder to the touring version with the higher and adjustable screen. But it was well worth the experience

MC-Cruise Cruise control is fitted and working well. I got an older system secondhand, but Tony and Frank at MC-Cruise were happy to help with phone calls and electronic manuals for the older stuff that are not yet available on line. They have concentrated on putting the up-to-date stuff there.

It was a bit of a pain getting it fitted and working, but worth the effort.

I will probably upgrade when I can,  but I am happy with what I have.
