Hi
Has anyone ever tried to buy replacement locks for st1100 panniers.I have just spoken to cuaseway honda and honda aust and you can only buy single locks nothing keyed alike. So if in a worst case situation and had to replace all locks on a honda st1100 you will have 9 keys to operate the bike.
Can any one offer a better solution. I have checked Honda key barrel's can't be rebuilt either.Please help as the barrel pins are falling out on my bike.? :|||| :bl11 :cuss :cuss :cuss

"I am a member of an Honda ST group in Australia and one of the members has posed a question about replacing keys/locks on an 1100.
I know my key has a number on it so is it possible to either by a whole set of locks for use with one key or supply the key number and get whichever lock is needed to be replaced.
Dealer enquiry out here suggests that you could end up with 9 locks and nine keys if you replaced them as needed.

I think you may be able to buy complete lock sets with one key.
Here is some information that may help. Seems like it can be done with some patience.
QueSTion 2: Are special tools needed to disassemble/assemble a saddlebag lock (so that you can inspect or replace its lock cylinder)?
Answer to queSTion 2: Yes & no. A special tool would be recommended. The small tabs that look like they would assist in releasing the lock cylinder are useless. The thin metal sleeve flairs out and must be squeeze to release the lock. It's not an easy job. I removed the locks to have them re-keyed so I didn't notice any codes.
The cylinder can be removed, but avoid trying to remove its dull, grey, metal housing which has the stamping on it. After working on bag locks, you must re-mount the loose end of the spring. And if you remove the lock cylinder, note that the small, brass tumblers tend to fall out of it.
And from someone else:
By carefully dismantling the pannier locks and re-arranging the tumblers in the barrel (Don�t loose the little springs), I managed to reset the levers with the exception of one in each lock, which was left out, so now each lock is a lever less, but at least the chassis key works them.
This procedure may also work for the seat lock and luggage to carrier locks.

Go see a good locksmith. They are able to repair locks.
Are you north or south of the river?
Why can't the barrels be redone? Have you checked them with a locksmith?
Diamond lock and key in main st are good. Armadale lock and key manufacture and repair.

Hi ,
The only way of getting it right is to purchase a full lock set .
i have made a call do a dealer as our pictures are not really accurate on what you get in a key set as the diagrams dont show everything unfortunately . He tells me that you would get every single lock/key on the bike as was standard on the bike. IE SHELTER,PANNIERS,IGNITION ,SEAT.

So it's possible to buy the whole lock set from a dealer. But why would you if you only needed one lock.
