Title: seat disappointment
Post by: creeture3 on October 24, 2014, 03:32:49 PM
Well, here I am with a new seat (Saddleman) and I am afraid I am quite disappointed. The Saddleman seat is actually taller than the original seat!! What I didn't realise is that the Saddleman seat has a slope from the front of the seat to the back (bum rest) which actually makes it taller than the original, at the front,  unless you have really long arms, and you can sit back into the seat.

So, now I have a $700 seat that I can't do anything with.

Any offers????

Post some pics. I'm sure someone will want it. Never heard of it myself.

My bike came with a saddle man seat, I hated it so I had it modified at the local motor trimmer to suit me. much better.

Here's mine and there's a gold 1100 a post or two later with what looks like the OEM seat and you see how much higher the standard seat is above the grip handle. Yes, I tend to sit back a little now where as before the OEM seat was causing me to sit almost on top of the tank and my knees hitting the grey filler panel.

Mine came with Saddleman and OEM, sold the saddleman, had the OEM jigged and never looked back.

I have a seat here that I modified to accommodate the fact that the ground is too close to my behind. If we can work something, you are welcome to try it and work it out from there. I modified it myself to get me maximum reach to the ground for stability.

I am now using  a solo setup and am highly unlikely to go back to a dual seat.

Give it a think and let me know if you want to give it a try.  :grin

Handle bar risers for 1300s allow you to sit further back. If the Saddleman is comfortable when you are sitting back into it maybe see what can be doeen with your handle bars.
