« on: March 16, 2012, 04:22:46 PM »
OK so who out there has breakdown cover and if so, who with?

I'm looking in to getting cover for my wife and I, any recommendations?

I found these guys who look reasonable... http://www.aac.com.au/ anyone got any experience?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I have RACQ roadside assist at the highest level.
This covers us for up to 150km from town & a whole heap of accommodation expenses.
Wife wanted it cause I was away for week about.
It's in my name, so I am covered in any vehicle. (car, bike, truck)
Wife is covered for her car only.
Only used it twice, both times in her car  :cuss

I'm with the RAC.

It covers a Nominated Vehicle (Family car, no matter who is driving it)

and any other vehicle I am driving/riding.

Costs $200 a year.

Yeah I've just been looking in to that - thanks for the tip - so I could take out cover on the car, which would then cover my wife when she was using it and me when on the bike.  It's $173 or $249 for that cover with RACQ.

Looks like some of the discounts might be worthwhile too (Jetts gym, Repco, maybe Beaurepairs....)

My RACQ breakdown cover is on the car, it covers anyone who drives the car and any vehicle I drive and includes the bike (I have used it once whilst using the bike)

All as quoted is true - price varies as does cover.

Just for your STead, you may wish to have a look at this for when away from or even close to home - if you don't have full motor cover - $39 per year with call out assistance for your bike - just a bit of extra insurance if State body can't assist.

Safe & hassle free Cycling.
