Ooops!
« on: March 20, 2012, 04:28:00 PM »
Well the day went pretty well at work...I took the car today..so there I am driving down my street, turn into the drive, and, there in front of me.......is......my STeed  :bl11 lying down.....what the  :cuss i said to myself...

Now I had parked the STeed on the grass with the side stand down, but resting on the concrete path....bike cover on to protect the lady....today was a 'bit' windy...but stuffed if I know why she needed the rest....neighbour across the road came over and assisted in picking up the lady (I hadn't asked, but was appreciated)...I asked the neighbour if it had been really windy, he stated not that bad....all I can think of is the wind has caught under the cover and over she went.....luckily, no major damage...couple of scratches.....thank heaven for the tip over wings and the fact she fell over on her right side, onto the grass....

Cheers :beer   (just gotta find one )

Geez mate, that's no good. Could have been worse though by the sounds of it.

I've heard of STs being 'blown' over, but for the life of me, cannot understand how this is possible. They seem so rock solid.

Tipsy even clambers all over his bike to get on it while it is on the side stand, and no probs...  hmmmmmm....   :think1

Glad all worked out relatively OK.    :thumbsup

Have you started good ol Patriot Blue since?

Cheers, Diesel

Bloody hell Kev, that's bad luck!! >:().................but aren't you the lucky one :cuss it should have been you who ended up with my name......just because my ST went down on the grass first, I end up with "Couch"..........bugger :cuss, "it should have been you" and I could have finished up with a more appropriate name like "Stud" 8) or something similar!!

When you think about it if you had a sheet of tin with the profile of a bike it wouldn't take too much wind before you couldn't stop it from blowing over. Fairly sure there was a thread in st1300.us.com where some one found their 1300 blown over in the car park. Think it had a cover on it as well. That extra windage from the cover maybe the straw that knocks the camel over.
