(1/1)

John g:
Hi all  :bl11
The other day riding through Adelaide city ,getting court at all the traffic lights  the temperature went up as expected and the fan came on .the temperature gauge hovered around three quarters .everything-working as it should .when  I took of from the lights it pre ignites or gives an engine knock .When it cools down a little it stops .My question is this ,have other people experienced this ?.Will changing my fuel from 91 to 95 Ron help.I avoid riding through the city like the plague so I don't do it often but I Also don't want to damage the motor if I have to .looking forward to some replies. Cheers John

Brock:
That doesnt sound normal. Going to 3/4 while at the light shouldnt happen ( unless very very slow lights), in very heavy low speed traffic yes. Pinging at take off is also unusual.

Changing your fuel probably wont change anything.

Is your cooling system full??

richo:
My bike rarely changes temperature. Summer or winter it sits on a third.   I use 95 or 98 (if the price is reasonable).
