A park brake is one of the best farkles to have, in my opinion.

At my age " getting lucky" is remembering what I came in the room for ;)

For others like me, what is it and what does it do? Isn't parking in gear not adequate any more? Please explain?

Anytime you could think of iaeing a hand break in a car you can do it with a bike now.

Parking with your nose down hill gives some added protection with the Parkbrake, but the 2 places that stand out to me is when stopped uphill at a stop sign etc ?? And in our case with the Hyperlite brake lights if stopped at road works etc, I flick the Pendle on to have brake lights flash but still be hands and feet free of controls etc.

Hardest thing after fitting was remembering I had it fitted to use  :nahnah

I used mine a great deal on our recent trip to Tassie.   Like ST2UP stated, it's important to remember that it's there.

Also useful when you crest a hill annd there before you is a terrific Panorama, so you pull over to take the shot. In neutral, engine idling but on a slight downhill slope, handbrake on, remain seated, camera out, take shot. And away you go, no trying to fight trying to stop the bike taking off down the hill. A quick stop, click n go.

I know there are other ways but this a great use of the HB.

How does it work? Does it work off the handbrake lever?
Any chance of a photo of it installed?

It works off the front brake lever. It installs where the bolt holding the brake lever goes, and you use it to keep the brake lever on. I have used the Middleton handbrake on the ST1100 for years. I really miss having not one.

Thanks Pete,

much clearer now.
Just realised that the original photo from Spanner has it sitting on a 20c piece.
Couldn't work out what the disc on the bottom was for was for.
