Impact of Floods

The weather is looking good for it so a ride is the plan. Spent the day standing by at a hazmat incident due to wheat silos getting wet from the flood waters. We spent part of the day going around and talking to people who were carrying a lot of emotions from having their premises flooded. Lots of tears, but it was good to help them get the stress out and off their chests.
It was nice to see them smile as we left.

I've helped out at a couple of residences here in Brissie when we had the floods last year, and it's devastating to see the losses people suffer.  They get to the point where they stop trying to salvage stuff and just can't get rid of it quickly enough.  Most are amazingly stoic.

Well it was a nice day yesterday and I managed to get my ride on A nice 120km ride to visit some friends who had the flood waters come up to the back step, but fell short of going inside.
Today is looking as good. I reckon I will have to take the Mrs for a ride today  :)
