Camper Trailer Project

(1/2) > >>

Me_3:
So I decided to go glamping rather than camping when traveling now. I picked up a camp trailer a few weeks ago from Warwick and towed it home.

I have since gutted it, and i'm refitting the internals and doing some upgrades & repairs to make it my own...

To begin with: The starting point.

Me_3:
When I started to strip it down, I found lots of melted wiring, bad connections, and just scarey stuff so I decided to remove all the wiring and start again.

It is now getting an upgraded battery & wiring, and a few other goodies :)

Big Li-ion battery pack
LED lights inside
Cheap radio & speakers
Hooked up to the bikes battery system properly.
Small fan for hot nights
Small water tank
Empty the nose locker, relocate the battery under the floor so the nose can be used for cooking gear, clothing, etc.

Me_3:
My Battery turned up today, so I stayed back after work and put together a box to house it all. 2.5 hours later and it was finished apart from a 2nd coat of paint. Thats the mornings job.

West Aussie Glen:
Some impressive original wiring :-X but looks like a good project

Me_3:
Trailer has been rewired with correct wiring, and circuit protection.

12v 90AH Li-Ion Battery installed in a box towards the rear of the trailer as it seemed the trailer was very nose heavy.
Low voltage cutout system, and volt/ammeter installed
All new fuses, switches, and media player installed up front
Battery charger mounted under the front box, wired to the power input plug. allows me to charge the battery at home, and also if I have the luxury of a powered site to run everything off power rather than using up battery power.

I'm looking for a 12v fridge to finish it all off, but finding one that fits where I want it seems to be more of a problem.. I'll work something out soon, and I still need to put some water storage somewhere.. I have a few ideas, just need to try them out.

But this week i'll wire the bike up for it, as I might be taking it out this weekend coming for a test run... :-)
