Black 2011 Honda ST1300
« on: March 19, 2024, 02:13:34 PM »
For sale is this Honda ST1300.  Being a 2011 build, this one of the last to be sold in Australia, this one was first registered 2013.

This will be a reluctant sale, but I can't keep two 2011 Black Honda ST1300 motorbikes (see the pics), one has to go (the front one).  As the other one I bought new in 2013, I'm keeping the original one.

Some details on the ST1300 for sale:

*  I purchased this about 12 months ago with 54,000km on the clock.  I've done nearly 6,000km, mostly on a tour to Northern NSW and country rides around Victoria - Ararat, Birregurra, Kyneton, Mansfield and Willow Grove - country km.
*  The purchase was because my original ST1300 was determined to be a "repairable write-off (after a little incident on the Great Alpine Road) and I needed a replacement, but now repairs to the original ST1300 are completed, it's gotta go.
*  The ST1300 is standard except for an after-market top box (large and roomy, like the OEM Honda unit) and an FM radio with in-built speakers.
*  Oil and oil filter have been changed every 10,000km, or sooner, service done at a Honda dealer.
*  The Michelin Pilot Road tyre were fitted for the RWC for my purchase, so have another 10k or so to go.
*  As expected, this rides like a Honda ST1300 should - goes very well, stops, corners, leans, smooth clutch and gear changes - it's just "run in".

The pics shows a few after-market items (Russell Day Long F/R saddle, tank bag, sheep skin seat cover, pillion footrests and highway cruising footrests), these are to be swapped-over for OEM items (to go back on the original ST1300).

The ST1300 is available for inspection, viewing and may be a test ride (cash security required) in Greensborough, Victoria, about 10 minutes from the eastern end of the Metro Ring Road.

I'm available most times and days, message for number then call to check.

Sold already, or scammed.  A extract from an email exchange between a buyer and me.

Proceed with caution, aye?

Although, I'm not sure what the risk is of allowing $$ to be EFT'd into my account.  I can't see how an unauthorised withdrawal can occur.  What am I missing?  How does that scam work?

Not necessarily, I sold my TX500 in a similar way, buyer in Broken Hill did a bank transfer, once funds cleared into my account delivered bike to his nominated delivery person . Yes many scammers out there so don’t release bike till funds are cleared into your account and get an authority by email to hand over bike to delivery person with name and address .
Nice looking low km bike👍, shouldn’t take long to sell.
Cheers.

Turns out "alleged" scammers x 3, decided to ignore them.  A few other legitimate enquiries, but only one has turned up for an inspection.

I had a heap of scammers when selling my Himalayan. It sucks that they steal so much of your time (and hope!).

Some verbal diarrhea from an exchange today re. the ST1300:

Buyer:
G'day Michael, I love the ST's, always wanted one.
We're in corrupted hard times, have you checked redbook values?
The good value deals are done in first 3 to 7 days.
No offence, are you seriously selling, or just testing the market?

Me:
Hi Silvano, are you interested in the ST1300?  What sort of $$ do you have in mind?

Re. Redbook, I'm well under.

I don't need two ST1300s, I want one gone, this one.

Buyer:
Redbook does not allow for corrupted fooked economy.
Even though I don't sell motorcycles and scooters  (I ride, and plan to collect 50, so my 5 grandsons get 10 each) I am in Motorcycle trade, having founded Harley Davidson chauffeur ride industry in 1992.
Allowing for pathetic economic climate, I only buy genuine bargain 'cycles and scooters, from sellers who are grateful for me showing up!

Yes, seriously interested at below trade, subject to inspection

Straight up, $3,000 - $4,500
In my humble opinion, this ST1300 is a very one of a few bikes that don't look the best in black.
Do you have any idea why she hasn't sold yet ?

Well, after such a convincing arguement, I'm think of selling the ST1300 for $4500 - NOT!

BTW, the ST300 is now available for $8000.

Just re-read your post...hmmm, Silvano... :fp

The reason I thought he may have been a John was that I knew a guy that runs Harley tours so thought it may have been him...He was a FW too.

I checked on mine with an insurance Company yesterday. A 2002 is listed at $8100, so this idiot really is trying it on.

Good luck getting $8,100 for a 22 year old ST1300 - I'm not saying they aren't worth it, but good luck getting that amount in today's market.

Yes, both my 2011 Black ST1300s with 58,000km / 74,000km are insured for agreed values just north of $14,000.  This is meaningless and really ain't worth a cracker, unless they're stolen or a write-off, and I'm not gunna through that again.

Due to lack of serious interest, and because Helen and I are planning to be away until early October 2024, the replacement ST1300 is withdrawn from sale.  When I return, I'll be putting the original up for sale.

The original ST1300 is the one I bought new in 2013, more details for anyone interested in purchasing before 18 July 2024 (we leave for Darwin early 19 July):
  • Manufactured: 2011
  • First registered: Aug 3013
  • Colour: Black
  • Ridden: 78,000km
  • Oil & filter changed at 10,000km intervals
  • Michelin PR5s
  • Russell Daylong Saddle
  • Highway forward rider foot rests
  • Migsel triple ball dash mount
  • Classic Trailer tow hitch fitted
  • Oxford heated grips
  • Tom Tom GPS hard wired to dash
  • Assorted RAM mounts
  • USB & 12v power outlets
  • Road Worthy Certificate (RWC) provided.
  • This ST1300 was a repairable write-off.  It's fully, thoroughly repaired (it has to be to be re-registered) and comes with a frame report, VIV certificate, ya don't get those with a normal sale and an RWC.

With the ST comes the Classic Trailer
  • Model: LT (Light Tourer)
  • Colour: White
  • 12" alloy wheels
  • Tubeless radials
  • Hydraulic disc brakes
  • 12v battery - charged by bike when riding
  • USB & 12v power outlets
  • LED Stop, Brake and Indicator lights
  • LED interior lights
  • Queen stretcher tent
  • Market Gazebo
  • Orange esky
  • Assorted camping gear

Looking for $11,000 for ST1300 & trailer combo.  Will separate.
