Well after everyone's great feedback on the bike swag, I have just been nosing around at 3 man tents, and looking at ones that don't take 20 mins to set up, I came across this pop up one below, seems to pack small, not overly expensive $140ish, and seems roomy.
Am looking at being able to pack everything into panniers and top box and not have to worry about tying anything down.
I already own the air mattress and good sleeping bag, so this looks rather good to
Thoughts on instant pop up tents and what to use?

The Get Up 3 is a twin skin instant pop-up tent which is designed for serious campers. The tent has both an outer shell and a pre-attached inner skin, which provides extra comfort when camping.
Made from a PU coated 2000mm double skin polyester outer with taped seams plus breathable polyester inner ensure the tent is very water resistant, durable and reliable. The Get Up has a vestibule at the door for gear storage. The front vestibule also has a sewn in floor.

The problem with pop up tents is the stored size.....the spring steel structure of them would give this a package size that whilst flat would be to large for a pannier.....somewhere in the area of 70 to 80 cm across.

I looked at these, and all the ones I could find were too large to fit on the bike.. Which is a shame, as they would be really good :)

Not much use to Streak but........If we were towing a trailer and had the storage space on top of a trailer.......OzTent RV1 would be our choice, or a RV2 if your trailer and draw bar length was long enough to cover the tents folded length at 2 mtrs......would take longer to get of the trailer than erect :thumb
We use a RV5 on the 4x4....great tent :thumbsup

not that I use it much as my preference is the bivvy bag for the IBA runs, however if I am relaxing like at an OzSTOC rally then i have this little tent to make things comfy. Yes you can fit two people but personally I would suggest just one.
