Post by: BM Brian on April 09, 2022, 01:47:30 PM
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, does the ST1300 have a parking light function, I can't find anything in the owners manual

If there is one it may be selected on the ignition switch

No option for parking lights on Australian delivered models, all lights are on when ignition is on.

Given the two small lights at the front it would be an interesting mod to wire up parking lights  :think1 :think1

I doubt it would be too difficult, but it wouldnt take long to drain the battery..

I guess we would actually have on/off working parking lights if we weren't stuck with full time headlights on.  :||||
Police STs have a light switch so I'm guessing they would also have the capacity to turn the parking lights on and off.  :think1

I'm sure someone with an ex police bike will be able to tell us if this is the case.

The police bikes dont have the ability to turn the headlight/parkers on-off the functions of the switch arent used. Except for the top switch which is strobes and siren on and second tone with the momentary switch.

As a matter of very minor interest, my V-Strom has a second "off" position that selects parking lights.  Apparently it's a European requirement. It's the furthest anti-clockwise position.

Mine does. STrudel is a 2014 police build that was sold new on the civilian market. It has 3 headlight options on the right switch cluster. Off - parkers - all.

You can buy a right hand switch assembly, but it's not particularly cheap... :think1

The 2 ST1300 Police bikes I have owned have had the same switches. Off - parkers - all.

This must be something specific to the ST1300 Police bikes.
