For a shop to look at the valves shims, replace timing belt and look at water pump on my 1100. I was looking at $1000.
I recently picked up  2000 model 1100 with 58k km, bargain price.  $882. The stat write off last seen on ebay.
Plan is to merge my 1995 model with the 2000.
went for a run, plenty of go and stop, no wobbles or wallowing, handled bumps OK. Made mine feel sloppy and rather noisy engine wise.
Later spotted the green drip from under the carbies.
Now I have had two  1100’s do over 270k km without this problem.
Removed carbies to find scabby looking hose connection.
Hoses felt a bit soft. with carbs out might as well replace them all $80.  Had trouble with one hose inside the V and took elbow off to make life easier. Found O ring turned to rock and a paper gasket as well.
There is clutch fluid smudged all over the slave cylinder, although it might just be the hose connection.
I have replaced two about 250k km not 58k.
The front discs are down to 3.95 and 4 mm = had it.
The older discs are 4.3mm.
Plugs look fine.
Tappets fine.
This is adding up a bit to make the 58k look a bit sus.
So with all the coolant out I thinking I might as well take out the radiator and do the timing belt now, just to be sure.
$50 from brisbane on ebay..
Hopefully i can get this sorted within 8 weeks before my 1995 reaches 280k km and needs the timing belt done.

My 1999 1100 hoses made it to 150,000 in 2013 but I doubt if much further as one was almost at the bursting point so 58,000 seems a bit low.

At just over 166,000 now I cannot see or feel any wear on disc rotors and the 4th pad set went in a couple thousand k ago.

The only coolant leaks I get out of mine is when I've overfilled the reserve tank.

The hoses must have been a dodgy batch to go in 58,000 kays because there's really no abuse an owner could dish out that would cause proper hoses to fail.  Then again, maybe a 100% glycol fill might push them  past their limit.
