Hi all,
Just bought an 2011 ST1300, and finding it to be a very enjoyable steed. Have owned a couple of Honda's previously, a beautiful CB750 and a cracker of an XL 250. The ST is my second road touring beast, having just sold my BMW RT1150 after putting just over 60K on it over 2 years.
Keen to join in a few rides, and get some good details on this bike, as I plan on having it for some time, and many km's.
Live in Gympie, ride whenever I can, and occasionally work requires me to be in Cairns, Sydney or Canberra, so I usually make it a bike trip.
Cheers,
Blacki

Cheers Stinky Pete. How do you find going from your ST to the RT ? Loved my Beemer, just started costing way too much money.

Hi Blacki,

We are having lunch at the Farmer and Sun Cafe in Gympie on Saturday at Midday, Dinner at the Marine Bar and Grill on Saturday night, and breakfast at Cooloola Berries on Sunday morning.
You are welcome at one or all events.

I put over 170,000km on the ST, so I had a lot of saddle time invested in it, and it was a superb long distance tourer. My plan was to fit an RDL seat and cruise control, but figured I'd be over-investing, so I bit the bullet and bought a low mileage '16 R1200RT. It took me about a year to get comfortable with the many differences, but now I love it.
You can read my review of the RT here.... https://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=12709.msg1236671#msg1236671

Gary,
Sincerely appreciate the invite mate, and I'm keen to join in. However currently working up at Weipa, so will miss this one. Have found the post, so know where to look to keep an eye out for one when I'm home.
Assume you all know about the awesome roads in and around Cooran, Kin Kin, Pomona and the like ?
Cheers,
Blacki

Stinky Pete,
I was having a hard look at a very sweet K1600, but the ST was too good a deal to pass up on. So far so good. It will take a little while to get used to it.
Thanks for the welcome mate.
Cheers,
Blacki

Hello and another warm welcome from Adelaide. Weipa doesn't sound like vey ST friendly territory. I lived in Cairns for two and a half years in the nineties, but never got to Weipa.
