Title: Ladies summer mesh Jacket
Post by: Pocket STocker on April 28, 2013, 08:59:59 AM
So prior to the National ride to Middelton 2013 I needed to purchase a summer touring jacket as my normal riding jacket is more suited to a mild to cold climate.

so the criteria i set for my purchase is as follows:-

- <$250 as this would only have 25% of the use of my main Jacket due to the climate we live.
- lighter in colour to not absorb the heat from the sun.
- Replacable Armour in impact points
- Mesh as apposed to zippered vents
- No liners, as i carry a Polartec jacket and outer layer wet weather jacket (spend money on Jacket not liners to only leave at home)
- Australian Warranty
- Longer touring style, not short to ride up my back in the event of a  :cuss moment

and it needed to be a feminine looking jacket, cause I'am a girly girl  :grin

so my choice was a Ladies Rev'it Airwave Jacket, ticked all my criteria and some more.

paid $200 for it in Port Macquarie, the fluttering eye lids may have saved a couple of dollars  :p as his Rec Ret was $229

Nice, now if I could only get my wife to also ride so that I could get her this jacket. It would be worth the ride to Port Macquarie

LOL ! it may be that you havn't purchased her a STylish outfit that she's not riding.  o:)

Lets face it, the interest has to be present to start anything new. See if she would be interested in coming to a RTE in the car to meet with the Riders/Pillions, see what a great time we have chat with the ladies about it, we love girl talk time.

Any time anyone helps another person into somthing new we tend to set them up to fail, by inadvertantly going to hard to fast.

be patient leave the right gate open and she may wander through.

Now will that be cash OR credit ???  :nahnah

Oh Mistress Jean, your wisdom is indeed profound. I shall stop trying to push and simply let the RTE photos and stories do the talking. The funny thing is that we used to ride in our younger days. Now she prefers a comfortable hotel with lots of shopping and a quick flight from A to B. I'm still on about the journey.

I brought Boss Dearest a new summer jacket. It fitted great until it came time to zip it up over the girls. It wouldn't zip up over them. She thought it was a problem, I just prayed thank you to the big fella  :hatwave :grin :rofl

Buying A jacket for my lady is proving to be very difficult, at the moment she is wearing a black mens Dri rider, as it is the only one we could find to fit. we can get one made through Tiger Angel but expesive. now my lovely is a larger size, and no matter how many manufacturers I ring or how many sites I visit Tiger Angel are the only ones who will custom make jacket and pants to fit, although we are looking at double to triple the price of smaller items.

when are these manufacturers going to realise that people  of all shapes and gender like to ride. :well

Shane,

Although the Aus Dollar is not as attractive to purchase out of America, have a look at Revzilla.com

They have Big & Tall sizes, may give you a off the shelf option.

I wear a Motodry Bella white jacket year round.  It's pretty much all mesh with removable armour.  It does have a zip in waterproof liner which I removed as soon as I bought it.
