Title: Front Page Coding Change
Post by: Totgas on June 07, 2014, 06:48:55 PM
Could I request that when you click on a link on the front page that it does not open a new window.
This functionality makes it extremely difficult to open a duplicate page in the forum.
Many Thanks,
A.

The only link that opens a new page is the forum. Please explain what you mean by

OK,
To demonstrate my issue;
The Main page has a number of links; Home, forum, shop, etc. When you click on the "forum" link it opens a new window. The others don't.
Now go into you messages and create a new message. "Oh and I want to quote another post I saw last week - I'll just do a quick search, but I don't want to loose what I have already typed".
So I open the another copy of the main page and click on the forum link - Bang Iv'e just lost my message because the main page resets the forum link.

If the main page didn't open a separate window this wouldn't occur. As far as I can tell there really isn't any need for the current functionality??

I have an idea of what you're tyring to do:-

You want to have two pages open at the same time which isn't that hard to do.

Just right click any menu heading on the page you are now reading and a menu window will open up.....select open in new window....

I have the ozstoc short cut on my desktop so if I need another page for a search etc I just open up another window.

The Main Page and Home are one and the same. This sounds like a storm in a teacup. It's as if you trying to read the next page of a book while keeping the previous page open.

If you want to do a search while writing a message, etc., open up OzSTOC with another tab and do your search that way; find what you want, copy, then click on the other tab, back to your message and paste…..

Honestly, sometimes a simple request gets blown out of all proportion... Never mind.
I'll await the new site.
Cheers,
A.
