Thoughts on Camping Gear Setup?
« on: December 26, 2015, 05:04:42 PM »
Hi Team,
Just pondering peoples thoughts on Camping Gear, i have a setup that works really well for me

It is simple, Compact (could be more compact), and i can throw on the bike and go anytime i want, just ties down to the back seat.

Lay out it Consists of:
3 man tent
Single air mattress
Sleeping bag
Sheet
Normal pillow
Self Inflating pillow
Tent Pegs
Hammer
12V air pump
3 port 12V plug with 1.5m cable
90L waterproof bag

I've been there and done that with some of the gear on the back seat and saddlebags but not anymore and why we bough our first trailer before the ST.

Basics are:-
3 person dome tent when on my own/4 person dome tent for when Heather is on board. Tent high enough for Heather to stand up and change.
Single burner stove, grill plate and spare gas plus cooking gear, paper plates etc. all stored in plastic container
Queen air bed on my own/Queen size double height air bed https://www.airmattress.com/coleman-double-high-quickbed-queen-air-mattress/
Rechargeable airbed pump/deflator plus backup 12 volt airbed pump
Two sleeping bags used as blankets
Two pillows plus sheet for bed
Esky
One or two fold up camping chairs depending if it's a solo or duet trip
Dolphin Torch, Hammer (for the tent pegs) Battery powered LED camping light

And the trailer which also doubles as table should I/we need one

Streak,  you may wish to add a torch or headlamp as Alans1100 has suggested, but also a compact cooker, such as a JetBoil.

I am eyeing off the jet boil, was in Anaconda today looking at cooking gear and ideas to go in topbox.

I carry an LED torch on the bike at all times anyway

To save me re doing this see this......http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=9925.0

The new additions to this are removal of the Aldi chair and replaced with a Helinox sunset chair, added a Gerber micro hatchet and a folding stainless steel wood stove/bbq.
