Gavo, I have one. Works great, I mainly use it for dirt bike tyres but thought I would give the St tyres a crack. The St are easier to fit than the dirt tyres. I also run dyna beads for balancing. I get the tyres and beads from Jake Wilson site. Much cheaper than buying in Aust. :thumbs

My tyre changing kit is a bit Robinson Crusoe but it works.

I use a square wooden frame covered in carpet to put the wheel on, and some toe-down straps.  (I need to make a new frame as my old one is in the UK!).

I have some plastic rim protectors and 3x tyre irons.

To break the bead I use a garden spade - just jump up and down until it goes.  A bit of WD-40 helps for stubborn tyres.

Then just use the tyre irons and the frame to get the new tyre on.

Done loads of tyres like this, it's not too bad when you get the hang of it.

That said, if I could find a decent, CHEAP tyre changer I would get one.

Hey Adam...........I've seen these previously and I'd like to get one, but as far as I know they're only available from the states and freight is a killer.........where did you get your's from??  I buy my tyres from Jake Wilson, but I have a 120kl ride in to the city every time I want a tyre changed. I also have a number of mates here where I live who could also make use of it.

Waiting to here back from an old tyre fitter mate as to any local suppliers so i will post when i find some news

If no one else comes in quicker
Hi Couch ,Gavo I made mine, I copied one from Radam Industries. If you look up Radam. Then go to tyre changers you will see what they are. They have 2 parts to this  changer a stand then the top. All up about $ 200.00 plus gst. There is a place in W.A. if not I dont live far from there I could forward it to you.Cheers Adam :blk13

Hi guys, I understand the need to save money and do mainteneance by your self, god knows I wish I had a shed and the tools (know How) to do some myself, how ever if every one does this to save money it could very well mean the end of the service department of your local bike shop if not the shop itself.
I for one would hate to loose my local shop, even if it is just to do some window shopping / wishfull thinking / time wasting. :thumbsup :rd13
