If i were to get married it would ideally be at the Isle of Man at TT time.
Obviously the lucky lady would have to be a bike nut or at least be amenable to spending the honeymoon pub crawling around the circuit  :grin

Where is the most isolated place you have ridden to ?

..... Why are Australian telcos so shit?

IMHO, they're not.

My (work) mobile is with Telstra, never had any issues, Mrs W's (private) mobile likewise, home service and Broadband also with Telstra, again likewise.

On recent return from OS, home service not working (internet okay), report to Telstra, given reference no, "a technician will call today", knock on front door that afternoon, tech comes inside, hooks up instruments, "there's a fault 190m down the road", leaves, returns, checks 'phone, all fixed.

Later that day I notice internet working slowly, call Telstra, advise that since 'phone fixed internet is slow, "that's not likely to be related", tech checks performance on-line, guides me through a couple of "upgrades", all fixed and faster than before.

I'm a happy Telstra customer.

BG, why do you ask the question?   Can we assume your Telco experience is not as good as mine?   Please keep answer to 500 words or less.

Mobile phone (optus) and mobile wifi (telstra) I have never had an issue with.
Home internet and phone... was alright until a couple of years ago.
I think this the first time I have seen a user specific question in the game.

Outages I have no problem with but it's all the crap you have to go through to get it rectified.
1. Adam internet was fine until they were taken over by iinet, then everything turned to sh*t.  Ditched in june 2015.
2. Telstra Bigpond... a lot of run around and eventually ditched them june last year.  They actually refunded my last bill.
3. Currently with optus.  Problems this week (what is it with june???).  Today it got rectified but navigating their website to find a place to report it was the most frustrating part.

Plus all of the dramas of the previous two years.

/rant

Have you ever driven somewhere and thought I should have taken the bike?

We have our phones on Optus with no issues in the last six years. Used to be Vodafone when at Karratha but no service here so it was either Telstra or Optus.

Some issues with our ADSL before we went to NBN but the line and exchange are Telstra and their gear playing up but no issues with our ISP.

Only on the last Balranald trip in the car because of the double trouble shoulders.
Otherwise the car only gets used as a shopping trolley(it's about the same size)

Putting aside all necessary logistical considerations, what exotic location in this wide brown land would you choose for a National Rally location ?

Mataranka Homestead, NT. You'll be able to stretch the ST's legs, see most of the "wide brown land", enjoy the hot springs to ease aching bones, wonderfull ride up to Katherine Gorge for scenery and culture. Oh so much more than just a country store....

Does 2 wheels really "move the soul"? Explain?
One day you will wake up and there won't be anymore time to do the things you've always wanted so do them NOW!!!
Remember there are 7 days in a week and Someday isn't one of them!

Two wheels do indeed relieve stress.  It's the only real opportunity I get to do my own thing.
On a side note, I've missed hot springs since moving from Japan.

I bet there's a story for a whole new thread there ....

My best accessory is the Elite Camper Trailer, it fits all my other accessories.

Did you ever go to a roller rink?

Use to do a lot of roller skating as a kid in the late 50's and early 60's.  They had a rink next to the foreshore at Lorne, we camped at Lorne long weekends and Easter, I'd go the rink morning, afternoon and night.

Where have you lived?  (List places in alphabetical order, and periods of duration.)

A toss up between deep red or black.

Should there be a range of engine sizes?

No point.  1300 cc is just right for the bike.  You go to 1500 or 1800 it's called a Goldwing.  If you go to 750 it's just a Shadow of itself.

Which is your fave town/city in Oz?

Rowan Atkinson- lots of skits in different settings.

Preference: fiction or non-fiction?
