A quick flick up with the gear lever, and it should pop in to neutral.

Not from 6th (or even 5th).  Only from 1st (unless they're different being on the opposite side of the continent).

All that aside, the bodysnatchers in the auction house wouldn't make any attempt to improve the lot of a sad wreck (unless it was a Mustang or equivalent that they coveted).

(And that's me used up my week's supply of parenthetical observations.)

The auction was at 10:30, I logged in at 10:27 and it was already sold

no idea, that is why I logged into the auction, another 1100 written off today on a far ride, rider in hospital with concussion, sharp bend with gravel over the road.

Sad for sure, watched him come through the corner and dissapear into the bush
