Hi all, I haven’t stick my head in for a while, life has kept me too busy to be mucking about on the interwebs!
My wife and I are seriously considering migrating our family to NZ, where she’s from and where all her family still lives. I’m slowly trying to get my head around what things to take with, and what to sell off and start again (it’s now that I regret having so many interests that involve old or hard to find equipment, all of which is bulky and expensive to replace!). One thing I’m not sure on, is whether to sell off the bikes and get a new one in NZ, or take them with us.
I know a few of us here travel between here and NZ regularly, can anyone give me a rough guide to transporting a bike? I’ve heard stories ranging from “all fluids dropped, had to be dry inside and out, and customs will charge a fortune to check that it is” right down to “nah Mate just house it off and park out in a container, then get straight on the road on the other side”... shy real first hand experience would be appreciated!
